I do appreciate that, although I can’t watch it for 2 months… And look I could be wrong on many key concepts and issues, but there’s a part of me that is just fundamentally against children at the age of 9 given any body altering, potentially life altering drugs or changes to their bodies that are irreversible. There is no nasty intent behind it, just care and a fundamental belief that no child nor their ill-equipped parent should be making such important decisions. Perhaps 16 could be a more respectable age, perhaps not. Mental health support systems should be offered to those under the age of 18 struggling, and specific counsolling offered to those that require it to fully understand what is happening. I fully support and endorse any decision made when they’re a legal adult.
I’m surprised too how quickly we have moved on, I thought that event would be the defining moment of the election.
But I think it’s because the political affiliations of the shooter are murky so that can’t be leveraged. Also, the fact that he used an AR-15 doesn’t work for the Republicans given they are pro-gun.
Lastly, they are running a divisive platform so it’s hard for them to point the finger.
Your passion for this issue is admirable. The last point in this grab bag of Trump’s proposed P25 platform addresses it comprehensively. Discuss
Place the entire Executive Branch of the U.S. federal government under direct presidential control, eliminating the independence of the Department of Justice, Federal Communications Commission, Federal Trade Commission and other agencies.
Direct the Justice Department to pursue people whom Trump considers disloyal or political adversaries.
Remove Civil Service protections so as to make government workers easy to fire, and replace as many government workers as possible with Trump loyalists.
Quell mass protests by deploying the military for domestic law enforcement under the Insurrection Act.
Destroy government attempts to rein in climate change by repealing the Inflation Reduction Act (which funds clean technology), closing the Loan Programs Office at the Department of Energy, eliminating climate change from the National Security Council agenda, and encouraging allied nations to use fossil fuels.
Rescind all government regulations prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, transgender status, sex characteristics, etc., and abolish diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
If he wasn’t licensed for the rifle and reportedly used his father’s rifle, maybe the parents could be prosecuted, like the parents of the kid who went on a killing spree at a school.
I feel like that their young son was shot dead and his name (as subdued as it has been) being denounced as….nothing good…is probably enough punishment for the parents in the land of the Home Owners Association and the home of the Gun.
Lol. This thread is moving at such a break-neck speed it is difficult to keep up.
But I see that the therapist is still in, just somebody else is on the couch.
Pray tell, in what context has the US government or media used the term “proxy war” that is analogous to how russian propaganda has been using it regarding USA vis-a-vis Ukraine?
Here is a tip, which I am giving you for free.
Non-meat meals are delicious.
Rice, capsicum, kidney beans, all of the spices, roasted potato with Nutelex…nom, nom, nom.
Peas, carrots, love a squash…
Just stop putting crumbed tofu on an icy-pole stick and telling us it’s a drumstick.
Stop with the meat substitutes.
They’re disgusting.
Had a couple of things. Nothing has really jumped out at me. The vegan (or probably vegetarian) offerings that are usually pretty decent are the ones not trying to replicate meat (tofu, veggie burger, etc)
Can a vegan @Vegan eat the manufactured meat they are doing in laboratories?
Edit: Wimmera said it better. Yummy food is yummy.
