US politics - is weird (part 6)

Obviously. I am just pointing out it is not all sweetness and light there.

Nah they just force marry their women off and abuse them mercilessly for not abiding by their backwards cultural norms.

Ah yes. Benazir Bhutto was supposed to have been murdered by al-Qaida. A likely story ! Given the fate of her father, who founded the party she led, I’d say she was murdered on behalf of wealthy Pakistani fascists.

On the other hand, IIRC the Widow of an assassinated President was elected as the next President of Sri Lanka.

And the real baggage, as donmania pointed out, is her gender and colour. Trump’s record should be baggage enough to sink that new insane cruise liner

He’s in the transgender world don’t you know? And others

We may be giving Trump too much benefit by saying he is senile because he struggled to call Walz a… man… who is in the transgender world.

That he might think that would work is nuts, but hey, Trump.

France has drafted in two female PMs but hasn’t made the cut with Presidents. The Iberian peninsula hasn’t featured.
As to North and SE Asia, deveoped/developing, left or right governments, women have been invisible.
So many different religions or secular status , religion doesn’t appear to be a factor

Trump has agreed to attend the previously-scheduled second debate.

In Australia we just wait until a state or federal government is in terminal decline, and then let a woman take over the reigns. Both Labor and Liberal are culprits, although Labor has the edge on sheer numbers because they have had more female leaders.

(Carmen Lawrence, Joan Kirner, Julia Gillard, Gladys B (although these last two didn’t make it to the election to get kicked out), now Jacinta Allen. Anastasia P was the exception, winning from opposition and then dumping it on a chap, showing that it can cut both ways.)

What would happen if Trump were to do a Nixon and resign in Office ( after his elected VP had earlier resigned) ?
