These guys would be terrible in the game day thread.
Sure but on this sheâs got a point.
You know the worst thing about this?
The US has never declared war on Yemen, but has been conducting regular air strikes since at least 2008, regularly murdering civilians, but with no one held accountable. Then in 2012 the GCC, backed by the UN, ignore the youth of Yemen and make a deal to transfer power with only one candidate on the paper at the election. Unsurprisingly the country spirals into civil war, made worse by a Saudi led invasion. Approximately 375 000 people die, mostly of hunger. There is a naval blockade, which exacerbates the hunger( and Australia participates). Airstrikes continue.
And we think the main problem here is thatâŚ.
⌠they told a journalist.
Focus on the main story people! Itâs that the US shouldnât be conducting strikes on Yemen in the first place.
Everyone who thought Trump was some agent of peace was publicly disproven in the dumbest â â â â â â â way possible.
Gotta say, I was kinda surprised to see Vance say he was going to pray. I mean, do they (Americans) actually do this? I know they say they do, but do the really pray for stuff?
While fears have been raised about the possibility that Steve Witkoff, the presidentâs envoy to Russia, was vulnerable to hacking because he was in Moscow when he was added to the Signal messaging chat about attacking Yemen, it has been somewhat overlooked that Mike Waltz, the national security adviser who created the group, was in Saudi Arabia on the day he accidentally invited the journalist Jeffrey Goldberg to connect with him on the messaging app.
In his first report on the incident for the Atlantic, Goldberg wrote: âOn Tuesday, March 11, I received a connection request on Signal from a user identified as Michael Waltz.â
Since Goldberg did not specify the time of day that the invitation was sent, it is hard to be certain of where Waltz was when he sent the request, which was almost certainly sent from his nonsecure, personal phone. (It has been previously reported that the open-source Signal app cannot be dowloaded onto secure government devices, although recent statements from the CIA director suggest that might no longer be true.)
But we do know that Waltz spent much or all of that day in the Saudi city of Jeddah, where he and the secretary of state, Marco Rubio, engaged in talks with senior Ukrainian officials over a plan for a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraineâs war to repel the full-scale Russian invasion that began in 2022.
Absolutely they say they do, whether they do or notâŚwell I think you can guess. The Righteous Gemstones is a documentary
So Waltz was in Saudi, Goldberg was in Austria, Witkoff was in Moscow (!!!) and Gabbard was in Japan / Thailand at stages through all this.
Also, in between abusing Goldberg as a loser and bottom scum, Waltz says he has no idea who Goldberg is, wouldnât recognise him, has never met him.
Goldberg states that he has met Waltz twice, several years ago.
Waltz (and Trump) is trying to suggest that somehow, Goldberg got himself into the group chat of some of the highest members of the US government, that this is his doing. Whilst he was at a Sound of Music festival in Austria.
Itâs a remarkable breach, and not at all surprising.
Trump always manages to go at least one-up on what he criticises others for. Heâs about 10-up on Hillary over information security by now.
So cavalier.
Unasked for plug of Karl Urbanâs Dredd which is really good.
I second that. Itâs fantastic.
The comic book was waaaay better.
So itâs OK to call someone scum and loser having not met them? Hmmm seems itâs OK to do that based on someone elseâs opinion? Nice character assessment.
Just on the phone/signal addition: thereâs a simple solution - handover your phone for forensic independent analysis. Wonât be hard to determine when Goldberg was added to Waltzâs contact list nor to the Signal chat.
And finally, letâs say Goldberg managed to hack his phone; donât you think a nation state could do the same (and it was used whilst on international trips)?
Trump Administration struggling to contain this complete security Signal meltdown. Majorie Taylor-Green the attack dog is quite a piece. Martha Kelner Sky News did quite a job getting under the skin of MTG whilst getting abused by her.
At least the media if not the Dems and those U.S outlets cowering under Trumpâs bullying, see and call out this incompetence and dangerous security breaches.
Vlad meanwhile bombing UKr unfettered whilst Trump throws more dead cat tariffs crap into the press conferencesâŚTrump blithering right now with his bullshitâŚ
Its just a complete nightmare watching the U.S fall apart under Trumpism whilst the cohesion of NATO and the West rapidly deteriorates.
Haha. Andrew Peek, Waltzâs number 2, was stood down from State for a security breach in the first Trump Administration.
Peek , along with Anton, was part of the US technical team at the recent Ukraine/Russia talks in Saudi.
