US politics - never go full Project 2025 (part 8)

That is astonishing. If it were a Wagner recital that might edge it

I would watch Urban do every edition of the comic book. We’re living in the Stallone Dredd timeline.

I’m surprised that, back here, questions aren’t being asked about Australia’s connection and whether our military based in the UAE are compromised.
Australia is a CENTCOM partner and provides logistical support. It occasionally assumes a lead administration role under the rotating system.
Our own Defence site has had articles posted bragging about our role.
IIRC Rubio described the US actions against the Houthis as a limited war, involving Iran.

Any nation that trusts the US about anything ever at all right now has got rocks in their head.

AUSCANZUK is looking real good.

■■■■ said that BYD had no plans to sell into Canada and the United States in the short term due to geopolitical developments. The Trump administration has maintained duties of 100% on Chinese-made EVs, as has Canada.

That is a hell of a lot of texting in that short time frame

This would all be very funny if it wasn’t so sad.

And it would be sad if it wasn’t so infuriating.

So, let me get this straight… war plans and real time uodates about the Houthi strikes are not classified or confidential, but a judge’s request about the deportation flight details are secret and can’t be given.

Uh huh.

From the BBC

“Many US car companies have operations in Mexico and Canada as well, set up under the terms of the longstanding free trade agreement between the three countries. It is unclear the impact the tariffs will have on car parts being sent across borders to manufacturing plants.”

Total confusion on tariffs, as usual.

I genuinely can’t get my head around how any of this is real, or possible. This feels like it is going to be the most historically significant moment since ww2.

AUKUS is ample evidence of this

Those waiting for RESULTS have been (un) surprisingly quiet…

As to the relations between journalists and the Trump Administration, journalists have been recruited into positions , from Spox for the WH and State, to senior policy positions.
Check out Michael Anton, currently Director of Policy Planning for Trump.
He has served in the Bush Presidency and the first Trump Presidency .
Other times he has had a media role with Guiliani and at one stage was recruited by Rupert Murdoch as his speechwriter.
Anton is a member of the US so called technical team engaged in delivering Trump’s promise of peace in the Russia/ Ukraine War.
And then there’s Sebastian Gorka, currently Trump’s counter terrorism advisor ( who had problems getting a security clearance in the first Trump Administration. Allegedly military intelligence won’t share with him and Anton won’t work with him).

Stop being emotional and over-reactive and just wait and see.

The courts probably won’t be made irrelevant.
Voting accessibility being made partisan probably won’t have any effect. We can trust them.

The US apparently deciding to ally themselves with Russia and China…not that that’s what they’re doing…but if they were, then it would make sense.

Why fight the next two largest militaries when you can join them and just take whatever you want between the three of you?

Not that that’s happening.
We should wait and see.
