I’d have thought a suitable US-UK deal would be King Chuck whispering to James Bond ā€œmake it look like an accident, Bondā€

2025, clearly before he was elected pontiff.

He might have gone on a X rager once elected.

Bond or anyone else, accident or deliberate. Downside? Vance becomes the big cheese.

To be fair, if another organisation found child sexual abuse infested throughout its ranks, it would be the end of the organisation, and justice would be the priority.

Unless, perhaps, the leadership of that organisation turned all evidence and wrongdoers (including enablers) over to authorities to allow justice to occur as fully and swiftly as possible, as the severity of the horror demands. And assuming, of course, this transparent and justice-minded organisation also refrained from intimidating and gas lighting and undermining the victims.

Then it might have a chance of not imploding under the moral weight of…what? Oh yeah, the widespread horror of sexual abuse of children across continents and decades.

(But occasionally a humble Pope says something a bit progressive…)
