US politics - never go full Project 2025 (part 8)

Mid October the Dow started to go down, probably due to uncertainty of the election and after that rose again. Not so unusual.

So instead of taking the low point of election day the real benchmark should be mid Oct when the election was being reflected in the numbers. 18th Oct it was about 43,300, so the gains since the election have been lost.

fun read, should unleash diggers

We’ve come full circle guys and gals

Now you’re speculating about what people/markets were speculating on. Why just 18 October ? People started speculating long before that. What were they speculating on? A Harris win? A Trump win? Were there major economic or geo political factors outside of the election? Nobody can know that.

The only objective measure we have is what was the Dow the day before the election at close of business 4 November.

100% agree with this. Or until there is data anyway.

And as a note I do expect it to implode and be a disaster. Just not sure I want to process it every day.

A pod I listened to said that Trump is see as a destructer. Like this is a good thing.
Cept he’s just conning everyone and making as much money as he can from the situations he creates.
Apparently he charges people to have dinner with him.
His wife is being paid $40mil for a doco.

No i’d said previously ‘your way wasn’t the only way’ meaning there were many solutions.

Ok go away then

I actually just got sick of your cop out to every question with a wait and see response.
Like…Do you agree with Trump stopping intelligence sharing with Ukraine?

But, like, has he really done that or is it just bluster and…oh, nope, he’s done it, yeah…it’s really bad, people will definitely die…

Maybe go back and re-read how you replied to that poster.

Correct and they were applied, weighing up a lot of factors.

Get over it and yourself.

Actually Wim, I think it was grow hydroponic wheat fields to avoid the need to import fertiliser as all you need is water. Deep thinkers some people.

Opinions should be ok from both sides otherwise everyone is just being hypocritical, and actually acting like a dictatorship, in a thread where nothing positive about the new US government is allowed.

It is a discussion, no-one really knows the outcome, it’s all speculation.

I am very neutral about it all but really want to hear arguments from both sides

I know that this is not a scientific article but there are others out there that show that this is not a one off phenomena.

He was saying Trump hasn’t done anything, that there have been no consequences, that everyone here is being hysterical. That’s neither a contribution to discussion, true, or even sane. And you got to read post after post of the same nonsense, nobody censored him. He’s doing just fine after being corrected on facts and then ignoring them.

Exactly how much outcome do you want before making a judgement? E.g. the decision not to share intelligence with Ukraine? Is that enough? Or do you need to see the resulting civilian body count from undetected missiles?

My high level analysis is the markets rose after Donny won. Then recently after some of his crazy shiit the market dropped, but looks to have stabilised a little bit last few days. Market is probably net slightly up since Donny got elected.

The whole market discussion is stupid.

Clearly the market reacts to what the most influential person in the world says. To suggest otherwise is silly.

In 2016 it boomed off his talk of deregulation. It’s doing the opposite, seemingly, at the moment off the back of him closing off the US.

It’s not a particularly controversial or strange concept to understand.

Markets are fickle and anxious. They jump and move on words and sentiment. Trump is good at swinging that one way or the other.

Ok so that’s happened. Removing Aid was worse.

This is Trumps squeeze play. Will it get to peace quicker? Perhaps.

We all know Zelenskyy is going to get ■■■■■■ here. Either by Russia or the US. Hopefully not both.

What Trumps actions have done have forced Europe to get around the Ukraine.

I thought you were gone for four years?
