US politics - the new orange wave (Part 7)

So what have we learned?

Democrats are useless. Republicans are useless.

Nothing else to see here.

Democrats are frequently useless. Republicans are frequently actively evil.

People in this thread told me that if Trump won the Election, he was never leaving power, ever. I guess we all better get used to their evil shananigans.

You can’t handle my version of the truth. Or my alternative facts

Weird how many of the biggest bushfires ever have been in the last 5-10 years.

Must be the gayer fire brigades and the greenies

Lack of back burning, clearing would be part of the reason. Plus more extreme weather conditions

Reports now that not only Canadian but Mexican firefighters literally pouring across the border to steal American glory and extinguish American flames. President elect Trump reportedly livid at Mar a Lago, justifiably so and asking why he shouldn’t be able to deport them despite not yet being inaugurated. Tariffs on the hoses and helmets they are bringing in with them have been touted.

In other news Spain considering reconquest of whatever sections of Americas not riven by wildfire, flood, hurricane, or dumb as fark MAGA people.

There have been gale force winds following drought and extreme temperatures in the middle of winter, the vision of wildfire not leaping but darting in sheets across great distances is astonishing and horrifying. Plus some backburning didn’t happen in some spots, probably.

When it hasn’t rained for the best part of a year and the humidity is low and you have a gale force wind behind it, backburning doesn’t do a lot.

I personally know of a place where a fire went through the same area four to five years apart. The second fire caused as much concern and moved about the same pace as the first one.

How often are you going to backburn? It is also the middle of winter so when are they going to do the backburn? If you need to backburn annually you may as well pave it, paint it green and be done with it.

I don’t mean to imply they are the same… you can be useless without thinking invading Canada is a good idea.

Not sure that is true. A few years ago a Team from our local CFA went to US to assist a wildfire, guys reported that there were many volunteer fire fighters in USA but CFA was better trained and equiped.
