They currently are our biggest trading partner and they have 3 warships off our coastline. I am not going to go off on this as I will end up with a headache, i will say they next time you buy something Chinese ask yoursel if it is safe, is it quality?

They threaten everyone.
I’ll start this by saying that I’m not a “China Lover” but feel that I am able to look at facts and come up with a reasonable assessment of them.
When discussing China, and their level of trustworthiness, a couple of things stick out.
They like a blunt instrument…by that I mean they don’t muck around…if you upset them, they react…generally in the case of the Australia/China relationship by whacking ridiculous tariffs on our goods…but only goods that they perceive to be not vital…so wine, beef etc…but not iron ore.
The other thing (which I feel people either aren’t aware of…or don’t give enough weight to) is that historically China doesn’t invade other countries.
Since the Communists took power in 1949, China has:
Annexed Tibet in 1950
Been involved in the Korean War (1950-53)
Had border clashes with Burma, India and USSR
Been involved in the Vietnam War
Fought a war with Vietnam in 1979
So I really don’t get it when people view them as a threat (militarily) to Australia.
Economically…for sure…due to lopsidedness of our trade relationship with them, they can cause serious damage to our economy if they wanted to…but I can’t see a valid reason for them to do so.
Sailing their ships off our coast…we do it to theirs…so what’s the difference?

Look the most likely explanation is that Trump is an absolute dope.
However I’m going to until the outcome with Ukraine hold off on any opinions until genuine concessions are made.
Playing along with the Russians, getting to the point we(ie the west) are giving you a whole heap of stuff you want might work as long as what’s important(ie territory) isn’t ceded.
Ie get them talking and think they are winning on inconsequential stuff.(like Zelenskyy agreeing to immediate elections post peace agreement).

And Truup spent two thirds of his campaign on the sovereignty of US borders. The highest goal of his administration is controlling who can or can’t cross the US border. Like all things Trump it’s highly hypocritical that you’re supposed to just ignore.

All true but tou have to look a what has prevented them from taking over places in the past. A strog US alliance has been a big factor, but that is gone now. Do you think Taiwan is safe? Why are the doing Belt and Road? As the worlds resources shrink what will they do to feed their population, there are plenty of examples of them going into other countries territories already.
