US politics - the new orange wave (Part 7)

Quite right.
And I simply cannot forgive that.
I don’t care how much of a nice guy you think you are, or how much you were just trolling, or playing devil’s advocate, or saying calm down…

You knew it was wrong.
And if you were so far gone that you didn’t know it was wrong, then…I dunno, man.
It’s not my job to save you.

And it’s certainly not my job to indulge your fantasies.

Could the new administrations seismic shift in alliances really boil down to the cost of gasolene (“gas”) in the USA ?

“Drill baby drill” was the catch cry. But Biden was already drilling at a very high rate.

Unleashing Russian oil onto the world market again by cancelling sanctions on it would cause the world price to plummet, because Russia needs money and would flood the market.

That would keep prices down for 3 years at least, until Trump put it to the US people that Trump needs to stay in office for a 3rd term.

We all know that Americans base electoral decisions on thte price of gas. It effects everyone, and it is a significant factor in inflation.

In fairness, literally anything is acceptable if we rid ourselves of that pro noun threat to our sensibilities, right?

Gotta teach all this woke nonsense a lesson by promoting voracious dictators to do anything they want. But hopefully they don’t come for us…

I mean, even the disgracefully scornful Trump comment about “they could have made a deal” is straight up saying that Ukraine has no inherent right to exist in a form of its choosing.

They’re dying , literally, for their freedom. And this piece of ■■■■, and his lackies everywhere are painting that as a negative.

We’re all paying such a heavy price for some people’s masculine fragility.

Not only that but saying that because the invaders lost lots of troops, they should keep the territory they won.

This really is like allowing Hitler to keep all the territory he had won at his peak, because his invading armies had lost troops there…

Damn those allied warmongers for pushing on…

I think this article helps explain Trump’s unhinged outburst. It’s about the money.

The Trump administration has given Ukraine an “improved” draft for a minerals agreement between the countries after President Volodymyr Zelensky infuriated President Trump by rejecting his initial offer, a Ukrainian official, a U.S. official and three sources with knowledge tell Axios.

Why it matters: The disagreement over minerals helped spark a wider crisis in relations this week, with Trump denouncing Zelensky as a “dictator” who chose war with Russia, and Zelensky accusing Trump of swallowing Russian “disinformation.”

The intrigue: Sources on both sides now say a deal is looking more likely.

  • A source with knowledge said several of Zelensky’s aides have encouraged him to sign the updated proposal to avoid a further clash with Trump and allow the U.S. president to justify U.S. support for Ukraine.
  • “There was significant improvement in the recent draft and it is in conformity with Ukrainian law,” the source said.
  • National security adviser Mike Waltz told reporters Thursday that Zelensky needed to “come back to the table” on the minerals issue.
  • “This is a negotiation. And in a negotiation, you negotiate. Ukraine wants to negotiate minerals, so we’re talking about it,” a White House official said.

The big picture: Ukraine sits on significant reserves of rare earth minerals critical to the world’s most cutting-edge technologies. In total, the value of the minerals could run into the trillions of dollars.

Can we join Nato? Any alliance we have with the US is now toilet paper, and we already have 3 Chinese warships off our coast checking out the real estate.

The only people left here that will Not try to pretend that they never supported him, are G and 14.

Also Trumps own interests. Even from his last stint as prez he was aware of US reliance on imported oil and precious earth minerals.
So I think that’s at the core of it. The US has diminishing resources so for their economic survival they need to acquire more.
He is a sociopath and doesn’t care who gets trampled and dies in the process.
He’ll help Putin win in exchange for a chunk of Ukraines resources.
The disturbing thing is that apparently half of Americans think this is ok.

The sad part is that SCOTUS said Trump could not be held accountable for anything he or seal team 6 does for him, within his outer perimeter of his constitutional responsibility. Basically he is the King of the USA now.

He controls the Pretorian Guard (secret service) and which ex presidents get briefings , if any.
Biden has been barred from briefings, as a tit for tat.

Most of the mechanisms to support his coup are already in place, namely are there specifically to protect him from assassination.

Oil companies were the 4th biggest donator to trumps presidential campaign

Oil companies have been locked out of dealing with Russian companies due to the war

U.S. oil major ExxonMobil had partnered with Russian state oil major Rosneft to explore for hydrocarbons in the high Arctic, but pulled out in 2018 following the imposition of Western sanctions in response to Russia’s initial invasion of Ukraine in 2014

And what did the Russians say about their talks with the USA this week?

Dmitriev said he had presented an estimate by the RDIF that U.S. businesses had lost around $300 billion as a result of leaving Russia following Putin’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022

That sort of number can only be big oil. Trump and Russia are working a way to pillage the arctic and make money and to hell with the environment and the rest if the world
