Surely not? If only this was a crap movie
Edward "big balls"Coristine. Yep, says it all really.
The country is being subjected to a coup by christo-facists, tech oligarchs and incels
good pedigree
There will be a memorial ceremony on 6 April to mark the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Buchenwald in Germany.
Unlike Auschwitz, it was not a Jewish extermination camp as such, but held political prisoners ( including Russian and Polish Communists, French) so called social deviants ( homosexuals and Jehovah’s Witnesses) and Gypsies ( most of whom were exterminated, while some others were executed). The allied airmen ( including Australians) detained as terrorists and scheduled for execution, had previously been transferred to Stalag Luft III, where they were held secretly, under a deal with Goering.
The ceremony is by invitation only. At this stage it is unknown which Heads of State/Governments will participate, including those under ICC arrest warrants. The US Army was the first to enter Buchenwald and to assist in its Liberation. Would Trump be invited and if so, would he attend?
It also comes shortly before the 80th anniversary of the death of FDR on 11 April.
It was only a matter of time until the three of them turned on each other.
The LAFD chief blames the Mayor for cutting budget of LAFD.
Mayor blames LAFD chief not telling her there was a high risk fire conditions - fires LAFD chief.
Big Gav just flashes the pearly whites and will blame the other two to save himself.
There are large lawsuits being filed against the city, state utilities and the state - it will make your eyes water the kind of $$$ we are talking about. Rich residents are piisseed. Plenty of lawyers happy to assist.
One of the best 10 min segments outlining whats going on in the US. Important to note the first guy speaking is David Brooks who is a well know conservative and writer for the NY Times
Racking my brains about the obvious power shift now evident with potential reconciliation between the USA and Russia. How about this:
China is destined to become the most powerful country in the world. OK, it might already be.
The USA has looked at other powers in the Indo Pacific and realises the rag tag bag of countries like Australia, the UK etc are just not strong enough to face down China and its territorial ambitions.
So who is the biggest available partner. Russia.
Have a think.
India?
Or are they too unreliable as an actor
What is the difference? (Same illegal killing; same end result)
I watched this earlier. Brooks straight up saying NATO is finished is concerning to say the least. He is an astute commentator (for a republican lol) but I hope he is wrong.
Interesting. I guess China and US have been key business partners in the post-Reagan free-market economy. And America has been able to maintain the partnership while turning a blind eye to fundamental disagreements about democracy, human rights, etc. Is it that much different for the US to partner with Russia instead of China? (I guess the basic difference is that it means ditching Europe.)
I do wonder if China ships between Sydney and Auckland was a bit of a statement that there is no US watch dog for you and to keep in line. China will be bolden to be more aggressive now US is pulling from allies
Gypsy killings were racial, mostly subject to mass killings, while the others were individually executed, for so called crimes against the State.
A relative of mine who survived Buchenwald, said that, when a trainload he was on from Paris arrived at Buchenwald, the camp was overcrowded with orphan Gypsy children. They disappeared the next day to make way for new prisoners.
Buchenwald was also a labour camp for able bodied prisoners to work in German factories, including arms manufacture.
Now with Russia militarily weakened for a period, China might be thinking it has more to gain in terms of resources by seizing Russia than toying with Taiwan. So Russia needs a big ally.
China would be better off making Russia an economically dependent vassal state. Why would anyone try to take Russia over militarily? Historically it tends not to work out well (unless your name is Ghengis), and they are still a fkg nuclear power. A hostile occupation costs you money and lives. A client state makes you money.
I suspect that was the strategy with China dripfeeding Putin juuust enough military hardware to keep the Ukraine war going, hoping that he’d totally wreck his economy in the process and they could step in and ‘help out’ once the dust settled.
For no reason at all i just realized that LA is due to host an Olympic Games 6ish months from the end of Trump’s term.
At the rate this fkwit is going, I wonder what that’ll look like.
At this stage if i were a bookie, I’d start framing markets on:
- Whether it’ll happen.
- Whether it’ll be in LA. (Although with the conscience of the ioc, id say theyre unlikely to move it.)
- How many boycotts there will be.
- Whether California will have seceded, and attempt to host it in their own right.
