Trawling through the history books, I can’t find a single example of bad things occurring after a leader has sacked military leadership and replaced them all with blind loyalists, so I think we might be overreacting to Trump on this one.

Great in theory (and I’d be all for it) but, in order to achieve that, we’d need to be military and commercially self sufficient. MASSIVE change from where we are, and likely requiring a far larger population.

The Libs would never do it…and given that Labor can’t even agree with getting rid of the monarchy, I don’t hold out any hope for them doing it either.

We’d need domestic reservation policies across the board (great), huge incentives for starting new/stagnant industries, decentralization policies, and enormous investment in… Everything… Just to name a few…

I get the feeling it’s more cultural, as we have embraced Americano for so long now.
We are multicultural after all.
We could even gather funds to do such things by actually taxing the mining/fossil fuel companies!!
