US politics - the new orange wave (Part 7)

They appeared briefly a few times, but then nah.

So sad.

Phantom balls?

Good name for a band, at least for an album.

If you bother watching he barely criticises Musk.

Trump fires the military’s top JAG lawyers, so he can get them to do whatever he wants them to do.

Trumps ‘cuts’ remind me of the time the rangers went to Fraser Island and randomly slaughtered the dingo population leaving a very fractured society.

MacArthur wasn’t exactly great for Australian troops.

I was kinda waiting for that one.
No, no he wasn’t.
He was even worse for the Filipino.

Theres a statue on corigedor island in Manila bay depicting the spot he apoarently made his famous I shall return speach.
No he did not, he farked off under the cover of darkness in a Uboat to Melbourne. He made that speach here.

He left his own troops and what was left of the Pinoy army to the Japanese, and the Bataan death march.
A right prick.

Have been thinking a lot on Trump and GOP focusing so much time on Transgender bans in NCAA College sports.

Crazy stat is that Trumps administration has more billionaires than actual transgender athletes in NCAA.

No issue with a debate being had…but this is like now a major talking point shoved down 330M peoples throats who are hurting financially and voted for what they thought was an administration that would put most of its focus on helping them in living costs. But an executive order that affects less than 10 people has taken much bigger priority and talking points than inflation and lowering everyday drug and grocery prices.

The party is so obsessed with smashing so called left institutions with revenge policies that they are ignoring most of the country and mis-calculating that so many Govt programs are processed by people aligned to both parties.

Now Republicans, Veterans etc are getting fired across the country. Dow Jones is falling fast. Inflation is rising. Town Halls are fighting back to Republican congressmen and allies are having emergency meetings on developing new alliances and standing alone to protect democracy where it can.

If there was a playbook to crush an economy and its countries standing…the last 4 weeks would be shown as a perfect example for future leaders and classrooms

The fact Houli_Dooli is no longer posting pro-Trump propaganda every hour, is abit of an indication that the shine has well and truely warn off…… and reality has hit home about the state of the US.

I recently read a book “The Battle of The Generals” which was about MacArthur & Blamey and their relationship.

It was written by an Australian author (Roland Perry) and was less than flattering of MacArthur.

The only country which has used nuclear weapons is Septicaemia, against Japan, twice in 1945 (Hiroshima and Nagasaki). Maybe it could be argued that the first one was necessary (but I don’t believe so - they were just testing their newest toy); however there can be no moral justification for the bomb which destroyed Nagasaki. It was an act of utter Septic bastardy, which showed how bereft of moral fibre they were back then - and indeed still are, for all their christo-democratic posturing.

They haven’t dared to repeat the exercise in the ensuing 80 years. Do you think they’d dare to use their nuclear weapons here, against us ?

Strategic alliances with Indonesia, New Zealand, France, Canada, Mexico, Japan and China would make them think twice.

That’s revisionist history.

There were studies done at the time which estimated over 1 million US casualties if they had had to invade mainland Japan…and even higher casualty numbers for Japanese soldiers & civilians.

Given that I’m pretty sure that you’ll disagree with the above…what would you have done to end the war if you were Truman?

I don’t think it was a U-boat…

Correct…he left Corregidor by PT Boat and went to Mindanao where he boarded a B17 and flew to Australia.

Discussion of Australia’s balls, all I can think of is when Barry McKenzie put dog food down his pants to spice up his nethers. I think that was the last time we did anything with them on an international stage.

Does anyone recall the cheerleading for removing funding for the ABC’s broadcasting outside our large but very sparsely populated island continent? Good idea LNP.

Those “studies” were at least highly exaggerated, reflecting the standard Septic unwillingness to expose their badly trained troops to any combat. The Japanese had already lost the war; It has also been estimated, by other experts, that not using nukilar bombs would have dragged the war out for at the most another year. They didn’t have to invade “mainland” Japan (whatever that means) - just to isolate the Japanese islands from all outside contact would have been enough, and the whole of SE Asia would have helped in that.
