I just can’t believe how, after years of the Cold War, the US wants to cozy up with Russia and alienate the rest of Europe. For what? Just coz there’s more money to be made?

ABC chief economist Alan Koehler, who has zero skin the US politics game…… has repeatedly said that the actions of the Trump administration will eventually lead to a recession in America.
He said that Australia needs to prepare for that, as it’s going to happen.
But that’s just not ‘facts’ enough, I guess.……

It’s actually none of that apart from some heated back and forth. It’s not all centred on the useful idiot either. If you participate you’ll see it covers a lot of the various factions/religious cults/billionaire backers/ideological motivators that make up this extremely dangerous movement currently up-ending the world order.

Interesting that Buffet has sold down a fair bit of his stock over the last 12 months and has cash of $350Bn at the moment. Probably he had an inkling of a crash if Trump got in.

At the time of his election there were a lot of articles about it. No idea what the source was. I don’t really pay that much attention. I also listen to the ‘The Rest is Politics’.
But I’m not about to start posting things because it’s opinion.
You might be right. Perhaps it’s about to crash. Perhaps it’s by design. Who knows.
But we won’t know how well or how bad he’s done until it’s all over.
You’re in this thread daily. There are many many examples of policies that take away freedoms of real people. There are manyany examples of policies that will cause deaths of Americans. There are many many examples of policies that are ill thought out, reactionary, or straight out driven by revenge that have no basis in any meaningful economic or social theory.
And you are going to “time will tell” it.
The jury’s in. Anything positive that comes out of this will be in spite of Trump and his cheer squad. And will be at the cost of cohesion, trust in the American dream, trust in government and between people.

This is the last straw of a slew of final straws for me. This is fascism 101. There is just no mistaking it now, it is what it is.
Anyone who supports Trump and his administration, even with whataboutism, and they walk amongst us in general life, is just going to cop abuse from me.
No attempts at reasoning, or trying to understand, or letting it slide. Just going to be straight up ‘your a ■■■■ wit then.’
