US politics - the new orange wave (Part 7)

That kid looks 13 and 33 at the same time.

Apologies in advance if he has some health issues that I am not aware of.

I concede, some on here say the Republicans in congress are with Trump, whatever he does, judging by the SOTU address. I now concede the repubs would line up on their knees to pleasure him if asked even in the sanctity of the oval office. After all that has been done before, right?.

It feels like a Clarko rebuild tho. Collapse the entire team performance, recruit sexual offenders. Protection from the media. Hate on darker skinned people.

Not an Essendon rebuild at all.

Thats largely because the Wagner group led by a cook was a better fighting outfit than the Russian government armed services, led by hundreds of scammers.

The US also had to call on UNHCR in the wake of the humanitarian disaster in New Orleans from Hurricane Katrina ( although they did pay for the assistance).

But America always gets screwed…… apparently

Gee the Dems were a bunch of big babies today.

Just speculation on my part, but “we’ll get you your wanted territories in Ukraine, do a deal to split minerals wealth and you won’t object to us strong arming Denmark into giving us control of Greenland” seems a rather viable guess at this point.

And the " Republicans " an ever increasing cult of manic idolatry.

I didn’t see this reported in the Australian media, or even on Blitz:

Who said that? Could have been any of several Blitzers. But it was a Pom.

Not just any Pom, but a Member of Parliament.

Not Just any MP, but a Conservative!

And not just any Tory, but a former Minister.

At last parliamentarians are saying what the rest of us know.

Mission accomplished in Panama after Rubio visit and threats.
Hutchison is selling its 90% stake in the 3 Panama Canal ports to a Black Rock consortium.
It is also offloading its stake in 40 other ports across the world.

Reuters “ “I would like to stress that the transaction is purely commercial in nature and wholly unrelated to recent political news reports concerning the Panama Ports,” CK Hutchison co-managing director Frank Sixt in a statement.

The conglomerate had been waiting for Panama Supreme Court to make a final ruling about the legal status of its contract to operate the ports after the local attorney general determined the contract “unconstitutional”.

SURPRISE

CK Hutchison, controlled by billionaire tycoon Li Ka-shing, has businesses in areas as varied as infrastructure, retail and telecom. It is also the world’s largest privately owned port operator.

The sale of the ports unit does not include any interest in Hutchison Port Holdings HPH Trust, which operates ports in Hong Kong, Shenzhen and South China, or any other ports in China, the conglomerate said in the statement.

Sixt said the transaction was the result of “a rapid, discrete but competitive process” during which CK Hutchison received numerous bids and expressions of interest.

JPMorgan in a report said while selling the Panama business is “understandable”, the deal is nevertheless a “surprise” given most of CK Hutchison’s other ports are not in regions directly exposed to Sino-U.S. geopolitical tension.

It could be “an opportunistic deal”, JPMorgan said. “Based on our understanding of the management philosophy of CKH, any deal is possible as long as ‘the price is right’.”

China has ports on both sides of the canal. they tried to buy the canal but Panama’s main source of income, is not for sale, the US must know that - They dug it, but its Panama that gave them permission to dig it, no strings attached. Will get interesting.
Landbridge Group (the Chinese Company that 99 year lease Darwin Port)
Owns a port as well . Trump vowed to wrest control of the strategic canal? Yeah right.

The Dems in general have been pathetic since Trump was elected. Timid, silent, over cautious, lacking in any spine. There’s a small number of exceptions, but in general, the party of Pelosi, Schumer, and Jefferies just are unable to rise to the demands of the moment. The silence of people like Obama is pretty appalling too. There’s probably some convention of polite political behaviour over there that past presidents don’t criticise current ones, but jeez, look out the window. It’s long past time that conventions and good political manner have ceased to matter. You can’t oppose authoritarianism or oppose a looming dictatorship by being polite at it. I mean, you have to actually dare to name it for what it is, to be starters.

Fkg little signs and coloured tshirts and coordinated videos. Soft and worthless.
