Literally nothing in Trump’s tweet is factually correct.
Nobody is doing nuclear testing, so the US is already on par with the world. Trump didn’t change the size of the US arsenal. The US doesn’t have the largest arsenal.
He’s an idiot.
I actually agree with much of what you have said. Many of those questions are worth asking. I don’t particularly like Trump the person, but like many others have become disenfranchised by the lack of action being taken in most first world countries to keep its citizens safe.
I am now at the point that the harsher punishments and government control seem like the right thing to do. For a couple of generations now, left politicians have allowed things to progressively worsen.
I hear things like rehabilitation is better than locking people up (100% agree with this), yet I don’t see rehabilitation, I see increase in crime and lack of respect for authorities because these same left politicians won’t/don’t invest enough money into these things. So we don’t have criminals being locked up or rehabilitated, we have them released on bail over and over again.
I’ll ask you some questions also.
“is the justice system working?”
“Are the people running the justice system to far left leaning?”
Don’t forget, the people making the most money out of crime are lawyers. These same lawyers become judges. The more crime, the more money they all make.
You also mentioned Venezuela and I will put other countries like Columbia into that picture. These are all highly corrupt regimes that have no power to control cartels and not do they want to.
When we talk about Ukraine, sure everyone wants the killing to end, but before this war, Ukraine was considered a serious security risk to all wealthy countries. So you may be right that Trump doesn’t want this to end, maybe he wants Ukraine to fall under Putin because he at least knows what he’s dealing with there. I don’t know what he’s thinking, but his lack of respect towards Ukraine is not unexpected.
Your final question is obvious, no I wouldn’t. Do you believe any administration though? I don’t, because they are all politicians.
Yet another one of your bullsh*t sweeping generalisations.
Which country…or countries are you referring to with this statement of yours.
Personally, I’m not aware of any Western country that has been dominated by a Leftist government in recent times.
So it seems that whatever blame you want to throw around needs to be apportioned to both sides of politics.
Please explain this…I don’t remember reading of this.
The violent crime rate, per capita, is just fractionally over half of what it was in 1990.
So… yes?
What, you saying Vladimir Putin was telling porkie pies?
But he’s a big tough authoritarian, and C_H needs daddy to be big and stwong and keep him safe.
That’s right and while the actual arrest numbers are pretty similar pre and post intervention, the actual number of ICE and immigration type arrests are way up which suggests that other criminals are not being caught due to police looking after the Feds or the crooks are having a holiday waiting for the Feds to leave.
Ukraine is a very flawed nation, but also a brilliantly dynamic democracy on a strong pathway to EU membership. The pathway to EU integration requires a strong track record of anti-corruption reforms, which Ukraine has been consistently ticking off over the past 10+ years.
Recently, Zelensky wound back the independence of the country’s anti-corruption agency. This would put it within the direct control of the government, intended to combat Russian espionage, but also allowing corrupt politicians to override investigations. This triggered the first mass protest in Ukraine since the war began and Zelensky quickly wound back the reform based on clear popular demand. With this track record, I’d argue that Ukraine is not the organised crime threat that it very much once was. (Also an incentive to kick Russia out of Transnistria in Moldova)
I do believe that Trump genuinely abhors war. I also think he’s hilariously easy to manipulate and Putin has played him like a fiddle. Every time Trump looks to take action that might impact Russia, Putin promises something that later evaporates. Trump sees Putin’s failed war as a sign of ineptitude, not a moral catastrophe that should be condemned with everything available.
I’m hopeful that the recent sanctions on Russian oil exports will help, but the world market has priced in an immediate use of shell companies to avoid the sanctions. I’m not sure we’ll see Trump do anything substantial beyond that shot across the bow.
As I understand it, China, Egypt, India, Israel, Iran, North Korea, Pakistan and the United States have yet to agree to the new CTBT. In any case, enough is known about the physics, to enable simulation of nuclear reactions, which the USA did after it agreed to the original 1963 TBT.
Weapon testing is mainly a performative , sabre rattling exercise and with Robert O’Brien, advocating it,
“ June 2024: Robert O’Brien, a national security adviser under former President Donald Trump, argued in a Foreign Affairs article subtitled “Making the Case for Trump’s Foreign Policy” that “[t]he United States has to maintain technical and numerical superiority to the combined Chinese and Russian nuclear stockpiles. To do so, Washington must test new nuclear weapons for reliability and safety in the real world for the first time since 1992—not just by using computer models.”
On the oher hand Russia is also currently observing a moratorium:
November 2023: President Vladimir Putin signed a law revoking Russia’s ratification of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT). Russian Foreign Ministry officials asserted that Russia would continue to observe a nuclear test moratorium and would only conduct a test if the United States did so first.
So we are likely to see clips of Trump with his glasses on, watching a test, followed soon after by Putin.
Just a distraction from the Trump files that relate to his best mate Epstein.
You have to wonder about the value of having warehouses full of nukes.
10 would be more than enough.
There’s absolutely nothing gained by testing them these days either.
The computer simulations are exceptional, and a whole lot cheaper.
You know what you do when you have a warehouse full of something?

Not to keep me safe, but to lock up people like yourself.
That opinion only covers the physics of what happens when a nuclear device detonates.
It doesn’t cover all the mechanical components, solid rocket fuel, rocket engines and other electrical components that were manufactured and assembled more than 25 years ago.
There is reason to test them to make sure time hasn’t resulted in degradation that will cause them to fail.
They could remove the nuclear fuel to test the rest of it and still achieve most of the testing objectives.
The test are underground, it’s just a detonation test.
Nobody does above ground tests anymore.
And it’s easy to test a bomb with a dummy nuclear load if you really must do a drop test or missile test.
The scope of the what would be tested isn’t clear. A detonation test underground could still be of value if detonating one of the 25+ year old devices to confirm expected operation. Devices do degrade over time. Not that I want it to happen.
