STOCKMARKET BORDERLINE FLYING!
More evidence. Trump is not a critical thinker……
Congress had planned to end the de minimis exemption for all countries when it passed the One Big Beautiful bill earlier the month. But the global exemption wasn’t set to come into force until July 2027.
Trump used emergency presidential powers to override the deadline set by Congress and move it significantly forward to a month from now. This was done “to deal with national emergencies and save American lives and businesses now,” the White House said.
reactionaries lack the creativity to come up with actual lies, so they just take stuff they’ve seen or done and change the names
This should be about child abuse, not politics. Integrity gone, just gone.
Pam Bondi, has deep experience prosecuting crime, including child abuse. She spent 18 years as a prosecutor in Florida, then won two terms as state attorney-general. A lawyer for Mr Trump in his first impeachment, she claimed after the 2020 election that he had won Pennsylvania, which he lost. But before being confirmed as attorney-general she assured senators that politics would play no part in her decisions.
It certainly does not establish that Ms Bondi made an unprincipled decision in concluding, as an unsigned statement put it, that “no further disclosure” of the Epstein files was “appropriate or warranted”. The opposite could be true: that on studying the evidence, she bravely concluded, not just that she had been wrong to promise “truckloads” of new information, but that Mr Trump had been wrong to commit to releasing the files, and wrong in spreading rumours about Epstein.
Source: The Economist:
Pam Bondi accepted a donation from Trump to her Florida AG campaign budget and then mysteriously dropped an investigation into Trump University. She is as compromised and corrupt as any of them. And that’s saying something.
Alexander Acosta was the US Attorney for Florida who gave Epstein the incredibly lenient non prosecution deal that avoided federal charges.
Alexander Acosta became part of Trump’s first term cabinet as Labour Minister. Trump hires the best people.
What, precisely is Obama supposed to have done?
Opposed Trump.
That’s what ‘treason’ means now, apparently.
Bigger crowds. He’s black.
Trump is not a critical thinker……
Japanese and Korean imported cars incur a 15% tariff, but US car makers need to pay an extra 50% on copper, steel and aluminium imports + whatever from Canada to manufacture local cars..
….. so who wins here?
General Motors profits have crashed.
“GM spelled out the plunge by saying the tariffs – only introduced by President Trump in April – had led to a $1.1 billion ($A1.68b) hit in the second quarter. Profits for Q2 plunged 45 per cent at $US2.1b ($A3.2b) compared with $US3.9b ($A5.94b) in 2024.”
In not entirely unrelated news, Trump’s appointed head of the EPA has declared yesterday that climate change does not meet the legal definition of “ a threat to human health” , and so all manner of environment protections are extremely likely to be wound back.
As I said a few days ago, the US car industry will remain irrelevant in the EU as they are most likeky not going to meet Euro 6 emission requirements. Unless they build stuff for the local market and heavily revised stuff for export. But economically that won’t stack up.
Tesla might go ok, but they’re already getting hammered by 1) Musks complete fuckwittery and 2) better products from elsewhere.
Farking moron.
The US auto industry was already in trouble, living in the past, Trump is going to finish it quickly.
Have the Tariffs actually started? Have the cars gone up in price?
