VFL - not 2021 round 14 vs Nth - aboods reports on us/Norf vs the Bears

Johnson is playing in defence. Is that a new thing?

Someone needs to post so I can keep posting.

Goal to Zaka. We’re up 26-20.

Bryan 50/50 forward/ruck

Are Gleeson / Ham playing?

I haven’t seen either of them yet so I don’t think so.
There are apparently 4 giants academy players also in the team.

Eyre is definitely 38 for us. Switched forward in the 2nd qtr.
McBride is playing and just took a good pack mark (or maybe it was paid a free) but missed the kick from about 45m straight in front

Hird hasn’t done much. Starting either forward or on the wing at each centre bounce.

I’m missing a fair bit of play though, kicking a ball around with my 6 year old.

5.4.34 trails 6.3.39. 15 minutes in to second qtr

Really nice bit of play then.

Bryan wins the centre tap, down to Clarke, who handballs to Zaka (yes he’s starting at a lot of centre bounces) who runs to about 60 and kicks to a one on one in the goal square and the North tall (30) marks and goals

Loving your work!

Half time. Scores tied at 7.5

Good effort to recognise Eyre - I still have trouble doing it. If you are looking for Brand, just think Fletcher.

Wonderful………unless of course the defender on the North tall was BZT or Brand.
BTW are all our players on the same team?

Yep all in the same team

Missed some bits of the 3rd qtr. we’re up 72-48 at 3 qtr time.
I think that qtr was only 25 minutes so I think they are short games.

From what I saw Zaka and Clarke were prominent.
McBride showing good signs as a forward. Competing well in the air. Found space on the lead a couple of times and kicked a goal from 40 out directly in front after a mark on the lead. There is a strong cross breeze so even those aren’t easy.

Hird isn’t shy of contact. I thought Cam Ellis Yolmen was going to kill him at one stage when they both went for a mark.

Hurley is helping out on the bench

Nice to see Hurley involved. Really, there was no strong reason why he would have needed to go to Qld at all, so it is a sign of his continued commitment, and backs up what everyone says about his leadership qualities.

@aboods Is this an 18-on-the-field-at-a-time proper game?

Yep

Does Bryan look at home or lost when playing forward?

Apparently Norf’s Charlie Comben kicked four goals in the first half, then retired to let us drag the corpse over the line.
