I think this has been well and truly established to be the case
Mate give it a break, boring
Boring would be 20+ years without him producing a decent list
You havenāt listened to me monologue about Star Citizen, youāll be aching to escape to the simple misery of following Essington.
Thanks for the great feedback on my commentary, guys.
Universally known that im a 3rd generation Essendon supporter with my grandfather watching Coleman, dad watching Blethyn and I watching Lloyd kick 100 goals in a season.
Generally speaking, I knew more precise details about every player and umpire on the day than anyone else.
I love the Essendon Football Club culture for its inclusiveness, encouragement and mateship that is flowing through the veins iof all its supportersā¦ Iām not seeing that in this forum, there is a lot of hate
Having moved to Queensland in 2019, I dont get the pleasure of seeing my team play much, so when the fixture was announced, I was thrilled that I was going to call my team onceā¦ and Jack Jedwab comes from my old stomping grounds where I started callingā¦ so I was more excited.
I do get excited on the mic and embrace the challenge of playing caller and colour.
Additionally, if youre not happy with the level of zoom on the camera, speak to the VFL directly as Ava was following a strict directiveā¦ if you want a contact to register your concerns, send me a PM
As the caller of the gameā¦ Shiel was the best and most consistentā¦ Bailey Scott was strong while Tex Wanganeen was solid across half back before fading late.
Essendonās defensive pressure in the opening 50 minutes was outstanding but dropped off drastically in the second half as the Suns enjoyed lots of inside 50 marks that were uncontestedā¦ and that was the reason they wonā¦ you would have known this if you didnt hit the mute buttonā¦
Essendon did play Ethan Read back into the Senior team and Leo Lombardā¦ well, you know now what weāve all seen up here for the past 18 monthsā¦ he is a big deal
You seemed more excited for Gold Coast goals then the Bombersā¦thatās my take from your commentary.
Keep up the good work mate, great effort going solo btwā¦
Hello @Yeendy24 . Thank you for your knowledge and enthusiasm. I enjoyed your call very much.
I enjoyed your commentary more than I did Sunday afternoons.
Gold Coast did kick more goals from general play that lifted the roof off the stadium but boy, when the Daveyās kicked those stunners, I was up and aboutā¦ and when Jedwab kicked his goalā¦ I was bouncing around.
Iāve called Ethan Read and Jed Walter through the QAFL and the GC Academy and get excited when theyāre in a game Iām callingā¦ those who follow my calls know that I have 5 or 6 players across each VFL and AFL team that I follow closely on a week to week basis that as a footy fan, I love.
Here is a factā¦ Jack Jedwab got more positive plugs than any player during my call than all players combined. If he was within 40 metres of the ball, you knew.
Donāt listen to my Port Melbourne callsā¦ Anthony Anastasio only has to be within 5 metres of the ball and I go bananas.
Have you ever called hockey matches?
Edit certainly a good Essendon family name!
Reckon @Yeendy24 would have stormed the field with his shirt off if Jack Jedwab kicked a bag of 6.
Haha i cant keep upā¦ the VFL does the great Michael Van Dosser on its books who calls State league Hockey and also calling VFL and VFLW ā¦ he is a superstar caller and part of the new breed with the likes of Ollie Walker Peel and Adem Saricaoglu who are making giant waves ā¦ weāve got a tremendous stable of callers who are taking the VFL to amazing places and also have other sports broadcasting talents.
Haha i absolutely would have. Iāve umpired Jack at junior level and now called him in the RDFNL and VFL ā¦ he comes from a tremendous family at Romseyā¦ his parents Eden and Julie have dedicated so much of their lives to community football and have done everything off the field at Junior and Senior club land.
Jack playing VFL is the world saying āthank you for your contributions to community footballāā¦
Matt Foley is something special at half backā¦ what is his background?
Wait, youāre telling me his old man is Jed Jedwab?
Thatās outstanding.
Whoops, my apologiesā¦ itās Edenā¦ Iāve only known him as Jedā¦
Ah. Well thatās not quite as cool! But Iām sure heās a cracking bloke all the same
The advantage could be he is more mobile. Scott keeps saying he could become a midfielder
