He was in our James Hird Academy as an NGA kid but wasn’t drafted in his draft year (I think it was last year).
Has done a couple of preseasons with us. Lovely kick.

Essendon has the second lowest number of All Australian selections for any club since 2001 and 4 of the 16 selections came from 2001 when Dodoro had no direct role in those players being recruited. Two were father/son selections in Joey D and Jobe!
Think what you like but Dodoro’s body of work over 20+ years is highly unimpressive.

I don’t rate the AA selectors that highly.
They work within conditions
- Try and get every club a player in the team.
- make sure the top 4 have multiple players
- Fit mids into Half back or half forward roles
So why do we have just 16 selections and Geelong nearly 60?
It all comes back to list management
of Current list we have
Merrett
Parish
Stringer
Shiel
Heppell
Goldstein
Ridley (squad)
Langford (squad)
Redman (squad)
Imagine McGrath & Durham & Martin are all chances to make the squad this year if we are still in the 8.
Merrett only one who should make the team.

60 VFL players make All Australian?
Because team success and injury management both impact AA selections. Geelong does both better. Losing players like Houli, Hibberd, Ryder and Richards who got AA selections for other teams also doesn’t help.
Eg Mooney in 2007 over Lucas or Pavlich.

Why haven’t the the coaches written their AFL Players reveiw for this game yet, or was it so bad that they can not bring themselves to write it
At least the VFL got a game article.
For the VFLW they didn’t even bother mentioning our biggest winning margin in 734 days… but at least they put up a very brief “oh BTW we’re in a final next weekend”.
Maybe they will give us our last 2 premierships I hope.
