VFL - Round 17 Essendon v Coburg at Windy Hill

@dingus completely with you .

Let’s get small forwards not try to make a small forward .

The games Nguyen playe shutting down papley and others is where he should be playing

You must be drying to get home to charge your phone

it’s also interesting that his possessions are less than you’d expect from him playing VFL. seems like his focus on defence results in a few less possessions. that trade off might be relevant to tsatas as well.

Worst part sitting at home 5M from the charger :joy:

100%, especially if they are thinking about the future.

Thought he was poor start of the third when he was getting clearances to no one and turning it over. Really liked his last 45-50 minutes think he built and his class showed as the game went on

Have to admit, I do that.

My mind is that warped in that on Monday morning, I like to have both my phone and laptop nearly empty so then I can charge both up strategically using the same charger.

Not if whoever is in is playing in defence.

Cox needs to be played as a forward.

Yep. Based on Solly’s comments during the week about valuing offball and defensive actions, it’d be interesting to know how the coaches will rate some of today’s performances.

Tackle numbers -

Parish 9.
Setters 8
Johnson 5.

No surprise from Setters. But a nice switch up from Parish, and good progression from Johnno.

good numbers from Johnson, any hot takes on his performance from anyone?

His biggest glazer.

Thought last week was a confidence builder that he just moved seamless and hit his targets at will.

This week I think you’re more bullish on his overall game. Tackling numbers and pressure right up - few spoils and times where he just locked a ball in defensive half that stopped scores.

First half had some great score launches from D50 and his kick ins took a lot of ground.

Was a lot scrappier with his touches in the 2nd half but still found ways to create score involvements.

I would say if Kondo and or farrow have down games you bring him in and give them a rest as first year players.

I’d have him in the team ASAP. Good distributor and you can’t have ebnoigh blokes with footy smarts and foot skills

Will do a team review later. Too many afl players to have to comment on I’ll be here for fkn hours.

I’d have cox forward ….langford playing back just makes us even slower

Get Johnson in.

We should be getting as many games into these blokes as possible.

Personally I didn’t think Parish was all that good defensively. Yes I know he laid 9 tackles.
But many times he was caught just jogging and letting his player free or standing passively guarding grass while the ball went past him.

So BAU??

When parish gets called up for not running back defensively but Tsatas gets crucified if he doesn’t run back defensively

Maybe, but then straight delist or work on skills.

You don’t hide bad disposal in the forward line.

Not necessarily.

His kicking is still not the best, but, there is a massive difference in pressure, both actual & inferred, between the AFL & VFL.

Most of the knocks on his kicking were based on AFL efforts.
