It’s very obvious why Binns didn’t get a go. He regularly butchers the ball by both hand and foot.
I only watched the second half so I obviously have a limited view. I thought Kondo was our most likely looking listed player. He didn’t go a great deal, but he just looks a genuine prospect to me. Moves really well, puts the foot down when he needs to but also doesn’t waste his tank. Reads the ball pretty well, doesn’t panic. Just needs a few preseasons.
Everyone else listed I thought were pretty average. Ngyen tried hard and looked ok.
Where’s the replay ffs
I think Kondo physically looks perfect for the modern game, but l’ve seen quite a few panic handballs that have been turned over. But he is one that developmentally wise, you put a lot of work into as he could be very valuable.
Crod, I was interested to see that Binns was named second best on the club website writeup (that doesn’t mean he wasn’t “horrendous,” but it does suggest I wasn’t totally off the mark).
Absolutely perfect as a mid-season pick-up then. No “Essendon development” required…
He would have put away a few bottles last night, like most of us. Surely you would have jumped ship after yesterday?
I rang the great man, but straight to voicemail
VFL 14 x 14 (Dees) match practice happening now at Hangar. I am not there so dont know to many details. Setterfield is playing
Bruce should be there..
They kept that quiet. Presumably why Sharp flew back yesterday.
Aceman knew about this but didnt tell us.
Betrayal.
I honestly didn’t know bout a trial
I posted on Tuesday that he was flying home at lunch on Saturday as he had a match sim on Sunday but wasn’t aware that it was a trial game.
On Friday the club changed his flight to coming home with the team which was pretty good of them.
I think another poster on here suggested we had a trial game today and I guess that’s why they rushed home so quickly after the game.
Note how @Aceman doesn’t deny he has a private jet.
I most definitely don’t have one unfortunately and still pay full tote odds for majority of my flights hence why we don’t fly Qantas much
Acemans sky tours.
Has a nice ring to it.
At least we managed to scrape together a practise match. The VFL is increasingly fkg useless as a reserves comp given the number of byes etc, it’s kinda ludicrous that we have to scramble to organise this kind of thing.
Final Score: Essendon 10.3 (63) defeated Casey Demons 6.6 (42).
Any reports on how Setterfield went in the match sim?
Ready for a senior call up I think!
