Looks like a few more turned up this week which is great.

Supoort the women! Get them into the AFLW!

I like that I glibly accept >200% wins nowadays.

It’s doubly important because it makes us strong favourites for 3 of our next 4 games (Darebin, Willy, Hawks again) with Port being the big challenge in the coming month. We should be 5-2 out of that. If we beat Port (6-1) we’ll have the only Lid Off thread in Blitz.

Yes, we’ll face a lot of AFLW teams and players after that but it would be a position of strength and confidence going into the second half of the season. We’ll also add some Cannon stars like Prespakis in the second half of the season that will help counter the other teams Hulk-ing up.

I find that interesting because I’ve always enjoyed watching any sport (except for golf), regardless of skill level - it’s about the competitive nature for me, I guess. I think for those who want to support and enjoy women’s footy (and sports in general), the best they can do is to focus on the competitive nature of the sport. It is all about winning.

Agree with all you said except that, but of course it’s always good if you’re better as a unit and do ultimately take the choccies.

Thanks for the summary guys, great to see we got another win.

Shame I wasn’t in town for this one, still need to get Harts to sign my guernsey.

I agree with this. But I also believe that the players themselves would like their own skill level to be a lot better.

Ha, he was with El Presidentress and I all of the second quarter.

Is Harts involved with Hawks VFLW is he? Coaching?

Nope, just an interested bystander and avid supporter of footy.

Seriously, you guys would watch marbles if they wore Essendon jumpers. Probably more entertaining too!

Nope.

They’re definitely more entertaining than the other Essendon jumpers, though.

I’m sorry, but the boys under 12’s is a higher standard. This is like watching 36 Zac Clarke’s on the field at once!

get yourself to a game and watch the effort the girls put in, it’s addictive and motivating.

Effort is not enough to get me interested.

Cool. Seeya then.

I watch it for the game, the commitment and passion. Yes, the skills are lower than the Men’s but this comp is only a few years old and it wasn’t that long ago that girls weren’t allowed to play (effectively) after 14yo.

I’m just rapt that the girls have a pathway now.

Go and watch a game live and just enjoy it for what it is. A game that is growing and getting better every season.

Each to their own, but don’t equate others watching the game to solely being based on the fact they are wearing the jumper.

Wonder if he’d go to a game just to walk around telling everyone his level of non interest and how crap he thought it was …
