Anyone who didn’t get a high five from Courtney today is a bum.

Thanks to @theDJR and everyone else.
You’ve given us a reason to check out Blitz during an AFL game.
Looks like I’ll have to watch the ten minutes of this one.

Watch the last quarter, the other quarters weren’t very good.

WE BROKE FCFC.

They got smashed by Willy last week, and are 4-21 vs Port Melbourne at three quarter time. Frew has one goal.

Hawks (who easily beat Casey) and us to enter the top six unless that game reverses very quickly.

EDIT: FCFC leads inside fifties 29-16 and are yet to kick a goal

Any replay available of the game, I can’t locate any on the AFL website.

Usually takes a day to be uploaded.

Not yet. They haven’t got the early game for today up yet, either.

FCFC lost 8-23 :grinning:

Fede is… a lot rounder than I’ve even seen her.

Our points for remains very bad.

Footscray are not the 11th worst team.

We eventually won most of the stats. Some key ones below.

Perry King top of the fantasy points on 107. Julian their next best with 96.

That “Klarke” girl is going alright.

In fantasy point order, mostly:

  • Georgia Clark – started back, moved forward and was one of the few whose leads attracted kicks. Could have tallied up at least one more goal, but she gave our moribund forward line some threat.
  • Dicker – mid and intermittently forward. 19 disposals, 11 tackles, 4 clearances. Her pace to get out of congestion is important.
  • Chaston – good game from our late inclusion (for Radford), even if none of it resulted in a goal. Mostly playing high forward, with 7 tackles, 3 clearances and 4 inside fifties. Is a physical character.
  • Wales – neither ruck dominated, but geez Wales racks the stats up. Just a casual 18 disposals and game-leading 5 inside fifties.
  • Ugle – real four-quarter game, unlike many others. Game-leading 21 disposals, with many outside and damaging. Unusually, she is credited with zero tackles, which probably tells you the role she played today.
  • Doonan – the only senior inside mid out there today, and that showed. 16 disposals, 8 tackles and 4 clerarances.
  • Ryan – yeah, at the start of this year I was not expecting Meg to be consistently in our top group. What makes me laugh is that no one manages to tackle her to the ground: they can’t get her off her feet.
  • Bella Clarke – I had identified we had a zillion tall backs, and as such Bella started forward before eventually swapping with Georgia Clarke. 6 tackles and 4 inside AND rebound fifties.
  • van Loon – people go on about our AFLW squad being low on big backs (less so after the recent poaching/trades/draft). But this 18yo is going to be a legit gun.
  • Clifford – ended up with decent (non-scoring) stats of 12 disposals and 6 tackles, but looked a bit like someone whose natural game is not even considering someone might approach you from the side or behind!
  • Davidge (and Prpic) were forced to be primary midfielders today, and while neither starred they weren’t anonymous kids.
  • Maddi Wilson – I feel like someone who has dominated the VAFA at times should just get it done more often. Is regularly involved but not doing the damage she could be doing.
  • Heil – stood up when it mattered. After a slow start to the year, her defensive work in recent weeks has been fantastic and kicking two goals in the last quarter is… handy :grinning:
  • Amber Clarke – not the star performance of last week. Shrugged off an injury scare (ribs?) to continue, and have a few key influential touches in the last quarter when we had to step up.
  • Marshall – pure defender today. Often on much small opponents, which didn’t worry her.
  • Spargo – has gone 5, 6, and now 7 disposals in her games this year. Will we persist long enough for the pattern to play off?
  • van de Heuvel – pretty anonymous. I know it was her first game for the year, but was surprised she wasn’t sent to the wing to allow Ugle inside. I guess she was our small defender.
  • Crook – most fantasy points systems hate key defenders. Was good!
  • Ashley-Cooper – wait, this is our small defender (about twice as wide as van de Heuvel though). Still getting up to speed.
  • Manfre – she might have gotten her three disposals all in the last quarter… but they were important touches.

They didn’t all knock off for the weekend, @gorgo

Replay is up for the last two games played today (but not the first one!)

Quarter one

  • LOL at Ryan’s reaction to being pinged for putting a pinky on the other ruck at 3:00
  • Not clear who was (not) on Sophie Cameron for her first mark and total missing set shot.
  • At 6:10 LOL at how easily Cleland goes down for Prpic’s shove.
  • Great intent and technique for Chaston’s tackle just after that. And her tackle at 8:00, where she doesn’t over-commit and times it perfectly.
  • Spargo gets bashed for the first time at 8:05
  • The sounds of the game is good; they had it turned right up because no way the wind noise should be that bad today.
  • Ooh, I lied. At 13:10 two Seagulls manage to take Ryan down. And she loves it.
  • I miss the next stoppage because I type too slow.
  • Courtney is zippy in this first quarter. Breaking lots of lines.
  • Example of van Loon just being a monster at 16:45. She has no right to break that tackle/get that ball out so precisely. Tree trunk legs.
  • Not shown on the video: lovely Bella bullying anyone who goes near her :smiling_imp:
  • Did love the tap by Manfre to Chaston at 18:00
  • Prpic more back this quarter than I called. Don’t trust me.
