Guess what? In 2021 we played the Hawks twice, and they scored a total of… 4.18!
It was the exact same scores too: 1.9 and 3.9. I remembered the 1.9 instantly: that was a Rumble in the Jungle-style match in endless rain at Box Hill where we were 1.3 after three quarters. And then we went BANG and kicked three goals in the last, to run out winners 29-15.
There’s a reason I keep imploring the Hawks to keep wasting their chances…

Yes, Zoe Hurrell did manage to stop Mietta Kendall with this tackle. Which was impressive, because Kendall routinely busts tackles.
This was a great sequence by Sutton: tackle, scramble, burst from the pack with the ball and [spoiler for the next photo].

She passed to Manfre, a lot lot lot closer than 50 metres out. She just take a long run-up, and doesn’t mind a Lloyd toss-of-the-grass.

Hurrell goes back to help Crook with Maddie Boyd, who is THE reason we lost the pre-season match and only drew round one.
