I dunno how AF points work, but clearly they like tackles, a lot, to have Dicker way in front of Sutton.
We only marginally lost the clearances, but we really struggled to chain together play (despite kicking as many goals as Geelong did).
We kinda broke even after quarter time, but the marks tally of 26-41 was indicative of our play today. We really struggled to deliberately hit up players, instead of scrambling forward to the Cat wall.
In the end, we very easily could have won despite the two teams’ different approach to selection. Geelong are not very good…
Some notable stats include AFLW ruck Liv Fuller having 6 clearances (behind Sutton and Simpson on 7) while Ryan had an uncharacteristic zero clearances.
Fuller also had a game-high 7 inside fifties (Ryan and Russell = 0).
She went 4-0 in frees while Ryan went 0-3 and Russell 0-2 (their other ruck had the missing 1-0 win).
We got spoilt with Wales the past month…
