Turns out Mifsud is not McDonald-level.
In related news from this week: Tilly Lucas-Rodd of Hawthorn AFLW has also just had a double mastectomy to make their physical body less contrary to their visualisation of themselves.
Yes, Ryan did eventually get some touches. Harrison (who is NOT on crutches) might get another chance.
Azzopardi, like other Cannons who played at Crazyburn, should be used to silly wind.
(which WASNât present during this game!)
That was just a small sample of those linked photos.
QUARTER ONE:
- It takes exactly 3 minutes before Willy even get a sniff. And yes, it started with a pretty odd free kick to EavesâŠ
- We continue to dominate and the ball spends the final 17 minutes in our half of the ground (literally one easily-repelled C2C aside): but stoppage stoppage stoppage, and we only lead 0-2 at the end of that.
- Commentators at one point tell Abrecht itâs not enough to be tackled illegally in range of goal⊠you must throw yourself to the ground as well!
- 18:50 Look in the goal square: Tia is taken to the ground as the ball is thrown in twenty metres away. At 19:00 you can see the ump hears Davidge being demonstrative, because he suddenly turns around for no reason.
There wasnât much to write about in that quarterâŠ
QUARTER TWO
- 2:45 Our coach is blasĂ© about Willy overtly pushing the ball out deliberately. I mocked the earlier commentary but if youâre stupid enough to do that when all you needed to do was pick it up and be bundled out, you need to be punished. The ump with the High&Tight cut is not good⊠to either team, so far.
- 3:15 sford bravely tracks the high ball into all sorts of trouble.
- OK, maybe I should bag Porter a little bit less [this time!] and the ump more, given the goal comes from a distinct push in the back.
- At the resumption of play, Albrecht big tackle and then @MelnikasBlindTurn!
- 5:40 Willy have brought pet umps to this game. While play is stopped, with High&Tight ump two metres away, Williamson just comes in and randomly smashes Mifsud from behind. Ump says NO.
- 8:50 nice win of the ball and great kick: @Richardson2Orritt
- 10:05 Plummer âwalks on the wild sideâ⊠love her aggression at the ball when it really matters.
- LOL, a back pocket Plummer joke. Pay that.
- Not shown on the video, but commentary is very kind to Porter here: it wasnât smarts by Whiting, it was dumbs by 56-game Issy.
- Richardson at the CâBâA as a mid, with Layla still rucking.
- Theyâre definitely an anti-social mob: another pointless whack of Thompson by Khoury during dead time (not worth a free kick, but these acts off-play and during dead time are starting to look like a coaching instruction). It did not intimidate Lucy, though.
- 14:30 Whereas if someone gets within a few metres of her, Porter kicks it out on the full.
- 15:45 No idea what free kick High&Tight pulled out of his arse there.
- 15:55 Lucy comes in fast but then pulls out of contact â High&Tight pays it down the field regardless. BFY,TW.
- 19:28-19:36 is the eight seconds that the Seagull refused to give us the ball back after the whistle. High&Tight did not give us the fifty to create a late chance.
Yeah, Iâm getting annoyed now.
QUARTER THREE
- Melnikas is similarly not intimidated by the three-on-one bullying during dead time just seconds into this quarter.
- 0:55 neither is Plummer for being held after her intercept mark.
- Davidge go CLUNK! Wedged between two Seagulls, no worries.
- Willy then go kick-mark all the way down the ground⊠apart from the not-expected drop by Whiting! First decent string of plays in this game, just about, and score #7 is the first at the City end.
- Willy have not won a third quarter across their first eight games this year⊠well, thereâs a first time for everything.
- 5:00 I canât see actual evidence that sFordâs kick was touched. The High&Tight AI perhaps hallucinates that to ensure Albrecht doesnât get a set shot 15m out.
- High&Tight at least â â â â â Willy over nicely by stupidly denying advantage when Willy is tackled high. We were right screwed otherwise.
- 7:00 â â â â YOU, High&Tight. That is the easiest HTB youâll ever get to pay: the Seagull takes on the tackle rather than dispose then clearly drops it:

- High&Tight will look, but will never see.
- 8:40 Davidge purposely rides the 360Âș and disposes when the whistle is 5cm from the (good) umpâs lips.
- Per commentary: Manfre played for Keilor last week and kicked all five of their goals in the loss to Moonee Valley. Slight contrast to this game, apart from the loss bit.
- EFC 0.8.8 vs Willy 3.0.18âŠ
- Good spoil by Chaston; better sportspersonship to apologise to Whiting for the stray hand to the face.
- 12:35 Plummer just straight-lining the ball, and then the player, to get us out of trouble.
- 16:05 Itâs not as blatant, but another Seagull just decides not to dispose within range of our goals, and High&Tight quickly blows the whistle to cut that one off.

- And again!

- Twenty seconds later, the prick canât whistle fast enough to ping Layla.
- Ha, canât believe Whiting has dropped two marks in range this quarter.
- It took over 59 minutes for Willy to score their first behindâŠ
Have I mentioned High&Tight is a â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â yet?
QUARTER FOUR
- It takes literally three seconds of the final quarter before High&Tight sees Willy blatantly drop the ball when tackled⊠and to pay them the free. Holy â â â â â â â â â â â .
- 0:55 Manfre has learnt a new kick. How the hell did that refuse to go out of bounds?!?
- Is a tackle after disposing an automatic fifty? Not according to High&Tight! But at least it is the start of our rapid numerical escalation of frees for this game (was irrelevant, was advantage anyway).
- 3:00 Wow, High&Tight got one right. Overt deliberate punch out-of-bounds punished (yes, that rule still exists parallel to the last-disposal-out rule).
- Thompson has been sent to deep forward.
- Contact above the shoulders, and where the mark was set:

- Per commentary, Willy have 12 players with 30 VFLW games experience, and we have 5 (plus Porter).
- 8:20 thatâs a good snipe on Tia, maybe 70m forward of the ball. Not captured by the vision, but was seen by the yobbo behind the goals at the City end⊠who is going to get crazy action down there for the next ten minutes, for just three points.
- 9:00 Halle-facking-lullah. Even High&Tight couldnât not pay that HTB.
- The yobbo will be videoing all the shots at goal in this quarter, and all will get real close, and none of them will be â â â â â â â goals.
- The frees to us are coming thick and fast now
⊠to be fair, most of them are actually there, itâs just that theyâre being paid! - 14:00 Note that the ran-too-far free is paid at least five metres further from goal than when she actually infringed. Ava probably falling just short even if it was done correctly, though.
- 15:00 the other ump gives us the push free 52 metres out from goal, and then ignores the Seagull deliberately âfumblingâ the handing back of the ball. Would have been usefulâŠ
- 16:00 Crowley holds onto Layla loooooong after the ball is gone. Then she sooks to the ump. Then she blatantly flops when Layla (deliberately) brushes past her. The distant ump is sucked in and pays Neve the free, because fark you, thatâs why.
- Not clear on the vision if Mahony took an even bigger flop at the next contest. Gets the free, of course.
Or, I could have just posted this:

I went into the replay expecting to have a sook about the timing and frequency of frees⊠instead, I came out with a deep and targeted loathing for High&Tight, who did almost all of the damage on his own. The ones that are not
paid are just as infuriating.
â â â â YOU.
The other ump was generally fine.
Only 8 CâBâAs.
