Vinyl LP's & 45's

I’m looking at one of these, is that the 6 litre Vevor?
Says it does 12" vinyl, $254.
Do you recommend?
Cheers.

That’s the one, 40hz. 6L would be the absolute max. Apprx 4.5L operating capacity. Fits 12" vinyl, yes. With the spacers provided I can do 4 at once, but could do 6 easily with some simple mods.

Would recommend from results so far, but it’s early days and I don’t know anything about competing products

I’ve pumped close to 2000 records through mine, hasn’t missed a beat and most records come out really well.

Distilled water
Small amount of dish washing detergent
Alcohol
Touch of windex

Does the job for me - bought 50 records a month ago all in good nick but really filthy. Did weekend of cleaning and now listening to the results. They all sound great:

A lot of Vinyl enthusiasts that clean with Ultrasonic Cleaners tend to use a Surfactant such as Tergikleen.

On another note, I wonder if there might be a market in Australia for Leather turntable mats ?
They’re around, though the colour options are limited unless you’re willing to purchase off Etsy from an overseas Seller.

With the affordability of Laser Engravers now, personalizing them would be dead easy.

I made my own out of goat hide, but it’s rough and unfinished around the edges…

Hmmm…checks Alibaba App

We’re about to offload a Gors and Kallman from my long-departed grandparents house. It’s from 1890-ish so it’s the old timber frame design that won’t hold a tune anymore, and a few hammers are broken. A very cool old piece but I’ve no room for it (wife already has an upright piano here).

On a similar note (no pun) I was intending to grab the old HMV stereo 10 turntable from the old house too, but it’s pretty tatty and emits a weird smell (probably the old lubricants have gone hard ) that wifey has vetoed from bringing home.

So, any recommendations for a decent , won’t break the bank record player? I’d probably want built in phono preamp for ease of connection. I’ll do a google search but user experience is more useful.

I have the Audio-Technica AT-LP120X, more or less a copy of the famed Technics SL1200. Upgraded the stylus to a VM540ML, which cost nearly as much as the turntable itself. Still, for <$1k total, I think it does a good job. Fully manual. I use a Project Phono box S2 preamp, but the AT-LP does have one built in.

We used to sell them about 5 years ago and I agree with Cyber. One of the better out the box clones and ticks your box for phono built in. We sell OG MRK 3s converted or un-converted between $700-$1k at the shop…but sounds like something new is in order.

With where I’m currently at in life and it’s circumstances, these are the types of albums that make most sense on vinyl.

Is this the current version of yours, Cyber?

Looks like it, no blue tooth on mine

Such a great album from start to finish. Didn’t even realise it was available on vinyl until I strolled into my local JB last week and stumbled across it by accident. An album I didn’t fully appreciate until many years after its release.

I haven’t listened to it since I was tiny but I saw them live last year

I, too, feel like a greatly underestimated this band at the time.
But I tend to do that a lot.

Saw them play the whole album a few years ago down on the Peninsula for the album’s anniversary. They then played some of their other more popular tunes from other albums in the encore. One of the great gigs! The crowd went off!
