Even delaying to preserve a pick for the mid season draft, hoping to see if there might be another Durham available, is not a good idea. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. He might prefer to play for us, but if he is offered a contract by someone else, he would be mad not to take it.
Bearing in mind his lack of any football at all for the last 2 yrs, the fact that he looks good right now among AFL listed players is pretty impressive.
If Wanganeen looks like he has what it takes, why delay? He must surely have a lot of upside on whatever he is showing now.
Put it this way, he has a lot more talent than a Cahill or a Johnson had and they got on the list. With Tex, itās not a question of if he will be an AFL player at some stage, I think it just when. Like you said, why delay it!
Why did Tex have to play well, yesterday??
Now we are going to feel bad, when we miss out on him or Fejo.
Just take both Dodoro. God Damn you!!!
Weāre judging these kids on one good moment here, a good session, a quieter session there.
Theyāll come back after Christmas, get another couple of months into them and then see how they look. Thereās plenty of time to make a decision on the final spots.
I WANT THEM BOTH!!! AND I WANT THEM NOW!!!
Is Durham eligible for RS? Heās 20 and played less than 10 games but I canāt see odds for him
Yes he is, we were just saying yesterday heās probably at 200 or 500:1 and would be a pretty good bet, particularly as he plays in the midfield already. Lack of possessions may be the only knock for an award like that.
Even just waking $50 on with the intent to cash in if/when he gets nominated
All the media will be about Horne-Francis versus Daicosā¦
Durham will work quietly in the background.
Havenāt been to Corio?
I reckon putting money on Durham for rising star might be a good to lose that money
Yeah, because obviously Hobbs is going to win it!
The players break now for Christmas or is there one more session?
Like I said a week ago when I saw Wangaās dance around a few boys, heās definitely got it!
BRING
Hard to believe Brad Johnson rated Hobbs the number 1 pick in the draft. Given all the Horne and Daicos hype.
if Tex wins rising star, gets a award his dad didnt get. (didnāt come in until 1993)
worth remembering that Gavin at his slight frame played SANFL at 16 years old.
He hedged his bets a bit.
Iām concerned Benās future now.
I was thinking he must have saw a bit of himself in Hobbs
Weāve got a total loser on our hands then
Was thinking more the way he said he loved Hobbs ability to put the ball to the advantage of his team mates.
Johnno was a bloody good player for the dogs.
Iād take 300 games from Benny.
