"A lifelong Bombers fan, Rayner called Essendon recruiting manager Adrian Dodoro in July about potentially joining them under the AFL's alternative talent rules, which provides clubs with extra rookie spots for athletes from rival sports.
Rayner has since been conducting twice weekly skills sessions with development coach Marty Allison to help refine his kicking and will step out for his first official Essendon training session with the rest of the 1-4 year players next Wednesday."
Clearly he's been drafted to fill the Mark Bolton role we've been sorely missing for the last few years.

Well he's athletically gifted and has a fantastic work ethic at least.
Prior to the draft that year he missed out he recorded a 15.5 beep test and sub 3 second 20m (2.96). His Jets coach remarked that his kicking needed work.
