What annoys you? Extra time

Mobile mechanic guy wasn’t giving me much hope…

‘Yeah mate, these things can be a bit temperamental…’

Deisel?

My vague memory is saying it had something to do with the Diesel ones.

I’m in Northcote, so anything goes.

The VW, It’s an auto.

Car still drives, but I don’t think I’m keen to drive it til critical failure.

Nope.

Hmmmm.

Mines def newer, but not sure if the gearbox is the older variant.

I now gotta go there and take the grease monkey for a drive and show him what the issue is.

Sounds like a sad auto to me but I’m not a modern car expert by any means. Might be a one time clunk, might be first rumblings of something big about to drop it’s lunch properly.

Drivetrain should still be under warranty, even if the dealership tries to fob you off.

If your dealer gives you the run around, try another VW dealer or a VW specialist.

Yours is the Golf R, if I remember correctly? If so, it has the wet clutch DSG 'box (DQ350) which is relatively reliable. The dry clutch DSGs (DQ200) fitted to lower power VW and Audi’s is a shocker. Despite having the more reliable version, that is the first place I’d be looking. The engines are generally pretty reliable.

Either way, I hope you get it fixed. At least at 2y/o it will be a warranty claim. Let us know the outcome.

Thanks.

Yes it’s the R. Love this car :frowning:

But I think once they can hear it for themselves they can go looking for it a bit closer.

Have had a pretty blessed run with cars for 20 years or so…

If it is anything of consequence it will have logged a fault code, so as soon as they plug in the VDCS it should be obvious. Kind of defies belief they would just make a judgement without running diagnostics, but from what I hear about some dealers, perhaps not impossible.

If it is serious and off the road, make sure they provide a courtesy vehicle.

My next door neighbour just got a massive run-around from the VW dealer in Warrnambool. Took the Golf in for a warranty fix, got it back “fixed” and realised they hadn’t even looked at it. They were offering some trade-in deal, which he took…and swore not to deal with VW again.

People who turn up sick to work and spend the day telling everyone how sick they are, between coughs, splutters, and snorts. Stay home FFS.

I wish the trollop who sat behind me on the Sydney Melbourne train had taken that advice. I’ve been crook for nearly a week.

I thought she frigging had cancer and had lost at least one lung.

Drivers at Ikea. The yellow lines are called crossings. You slow down at them. Not drive through without checking both ways.

Every time we go there I’ve seen them not stop for pedestrians and trolleys.

Ah Ikea…
I was involved in a near punch-on at the Richmond one, such was the poor design of the car park. Dunno if they’ve fixed it now, but who the fark thought it was a good idea to prevent trolleys going into the car park, then put the parcel pick-up area right beside the car park exit?? You just couldn’t get out of the farking joint!!
That was well over 10 years ago, I blacklisted it and have never been back since. Until the Springvale one opened, if the missus ever needed to get something from Ikea she was summarily dispatched with her brother for handling the bulk items. Farking shithole…

The Springvale one is a dream by comparison.

Any of those places like ikea, you need to get there early and hustle. In and out before the crowds arrive.

I ■■■■■■■ hate Ikea.

Me too, and I live across the road.
Only go if absolutely necessary, which is almost never.

P Platers that tailgate me on the highway whilst I have a baby in the car, get to road works and have to slow to 80 so went to 70 constantly beeping the horn at me, sitting a foot behind my car.
