What did you order in your lunch order? - Throwback Thursday

All this talk of meat pies, think I'll have one for lunch today.

sausage roll in a bread roll

Outstanding !

At our school, that was called the "Three in one"

And I still dont know what the third component is/was.

They called it a 'Roll in a Roll' at my high school. Weekly special.

Maybe the third component was sauce?

Butter?

..............................bacteria?

Wow.
I had a peanut butter sandwich on white bread and a small plain milk.
Where the fark did you guys go to primary school?
High school - i was more like PP. Glazed pineapple donut or potato cakes and PJ super mild.

Yeah in highschool it was a PJ super mild and a sausage roll smothered in sauce behind the cricket nets for lunch.

I remember students us to bring a spoon to eat a meat pie. They were the days when you would flip the lid off the pie and get into the meat.

This is probably the most bizarre thing I've ever read. Did you all have tiny mouths? Or no hands?

It was common at school - I suppose in those days there were chunks of meat in the pie - Anyway nothing wrong with having good manners.

Actually this reminds me of my trips to Indonesia - Would always buy one or two pizzas for the staff where I stayed - Out came the knives and forks - Weird !

Anyone else go to a primary school (around 1983 I reckon) that adopted the ever-so-brief “munch n crunch” healthy lunch order packs? Some fruit, carrots, maybe a sandwich, a small fruit drink and a hard boiled egg. Two weeks, a large number of impact injuries and a school yard strewn with 2000 rotting eggs soon saw that craze off…

Missed that craze.

Do kids still throw the pickles at McDonald's windows?

Being senile, I can only remember back to lunchtime.
They never baked bread on weekends when I was at school, so we'd get a pie or pastie on Mondays - Noon pies IIRC. may have cost 1/- or 1/2 with sauce.

did they accept ration tokens

A black and white cookie.

Missed that craze.

Not that I've seen. My three don't, not yet.

Juniors footy trip tradition.

Maccas for lunch at Ballarat.

Stick 100 pickles to the windows.  Scull a stubbie.  Back on the bus.

I knew you were Alpha, Wim, but sculling stubbies as a junior?!

This thread needs to be locked at the end of every Thursday.

Kids don't.
Adolescent idiots still do.

I might have had a sip. :)

One of our greatest victories was on the Sunday after a footy trip where more than one kid spewed.

We were told we disgraced the jumper before we got off the bus.

It turned out like a Disney movie, apart from the underage drinking.

Couldn't get away with it now, obv.

Edit:  Alpha.  lol.
