I got onto "yoyo" at Monash at the start of 1993. http://yoyo.cc.monash.edu.au/~mongoose/ (or a variant of it) would have been up then. I made a site for the Doctor Who Club of Victoria there in 1994.
Honestly can’t remember. All I rememebr is smashing MSN and the microsoft chat rooms. Used to love what is now known as “trolling”, although I can see why they got rid of those rooms. I remember a number of the profile pics used to be a bit pornographic, but you wouldn’t know until you actually clicked on it. :ph34r: I guess with no youtube and social media there wasn’t really that much to do online.
My other earliest internet memory was being in the computer room at school and one of the boys decided to look for pornographic material on google or whatever it was. Don’t know how the teacher never picked up on it. I think we were meant to be on kidpix!

I used to have this MS product called Cinemania (replaced about 2000 by IMDB) which required monthly updates via the net. I was on Ozemail dial-up and every frigging month, the download would go to 98% then drop out. Very frustrating. Time and time again.

Alta vista was my search engine of choice, although I believe it just trawler results from all the others,and most of my time was spent on the Bret Hart forum which pretty much cured me of web forums until I found your good selves.
