I won’t go into a biology lesson here, but this is incorrect. Mushrooms and fruit are very different structures produced by wildly different organisms.

Also, watermelon is the clear king of fruit. Especially served with some ripe pineapple and passionfruit pulp. My favourite summer snack.

My fig trees (3 varieties) are bursting with fruit - fig jam, juices (mixed with our cucumbers, watermelons and grapes - yummy!), stewed sweets with ice-cream and/or cream. It’s fruit season!!!

I understand, fungus are neither plant nor animal kingdom, but people in the mushroom growing world describe mushrooms as ‘fruits’ or ‘fruiting bodies’. No doubt it’s a colloquial use, but anyway…
