BIG JOE SHOW!
In Kavanagh’s defence, our midfield is pretty hard to break into at the moment with Watson, Goddard, Stanton, Heppell, Zaharakis, Howlett, Hocking, Myers and Melksham all ahead of the other boys.
Hardingham kicked a few goals during preseason that I was staggered by. The bloke appears to have improved his goal kicking a hell of a lot. Forward pocket works to all of his strengths.
I’m think he’ll go ok.
Few questions.

Probably at home, resting up for the game tomorrow night I would assume.

Hardingham? HARDINGHAM! WTF Bomber?
Kicked 4 goals last time he played forward agaist norf
Hardingham has played forward at time since then. The kid is a horrible decision maker and when he kicks it is a 70% chance he misses the target.
That game where he played the Kangas was close to 5 years ago. Citing games from 5 years ago is a bad sign.
Also has tendency to fly early and let the ball go over his head when a simple mark would have sufficed. Still, its a new season and everyone starts with a clean slate.

Disagree with the last statement. When you have been in the system for 4+ years and have shown now improvement with your kicking skills, it says plenty.
He starts from where he finished last year and should be measured against that. To me he doesn’t work hard enough on his skills…in the modern game you MUST be able to hit targets by foot.
He gets the pill 60 out, how many trust him to hit the target? I feel that area of the team’s game is the real key issue with the forward line structure.
Bullshit he does. Hardy is supreme in the air and would be top 1% in the afl for a guy his size to get a hand to a ball he has no right to get a hand to. Only gibson would beat him. He is a gun in the air.
Heh, yeah loves doing that.

Having said that the forward line listed isn’t how the team will line up anyway, and as Peos said above Hardingham has the tools so if he has the mindset we can still apply enough forward pressure with him in it.
You know by picking him you will get effort and guts and he tackles hard.
Knock his kicking but he is elite in the air.
Absolutely elite for his size.
I think you need to reevaluate what elite is. Hardingham isn’t elite in the air, he can look elite in the air at time but he certainly does go early at time. He will punch when he can mark…however it doesn’t matter how many marks you take when you can’t use the ball well.
“Hey look, I took an elite mark…here you go opposition, have the ball back”
Yeah I said that re his kicking. Elite in the air I meant. So what if we can recall a misjudgement here or there. His ability is a weapon to our advantage 9 times out of ten. Pears would win 3 of the contests hardy would aerially. Given our injuries he is a lock.
Yeah, one of the merrets definitely. Zac has just looked really good thus far...perhaps they go with Jackson as sub? Time will tell...
...... and then Jerret will give that Zerret a Chinese burn and a wedgie for being a smug little bro.
Hardingham needs to know when to leap and when to get the fark out of Joe or Jake's way.
Exciting team on paper with the 3 debutants... but hardly one to fill me with any confidence to win this particular game.
Uphill battle against a side that usually plays at its best against us.
Genuinely excited to watch Carlisle and JOE upforward and Hurley down back.
Love "North Melbourne, the kangaroos, whatever they're called." Correct level of respect given by Bomber.
Plus he pronounces Pig's name as Hibbard.

I always knew you wanted to be Greek.
Excellent team selection. Bomba written all over it.
Good team selection. Bomber has taken some risks and with that there maybe some real rewards. Could be exciting times.

Can't see us ever winning with that line up
[end sarcastica]
i always manage to forget that Camporeale ever played for us, i create this little happy place in my mind where he is just another carlton flog, but once every couple of years someone here spoils my fantasy. thanks rolo, another 3 years of therapy wasted.
Honestly cannot remember a single piece of play he was ever involved in....
Murphy also brings up similar traumatic feelings, especially in combination with the infamous '1999 siren' photo....
murphy i can kind of cop as a journeyman and for the goal he kicked against WC in the hird/mcclaren game. also, milking the free from phil read just before half time in the 2004 elimination for being late and high sent the melbourne fans around me in the MCC totally mental and led to a healthy lead going into half time, gold (he was generally pretty good in his first year actually). ah the 2004 elimination final, fond memories, ■■■■■■ good game.
Big Dave standing up when it counted. Deserved more he did.
in many ways i remember that game more fondly than the 2000 GF from the point of view of a pure football going experience. The 2000 GF felt like a fait accompli going in, i really didn't think Melbourne were any chance of touching us and the only thing about it that really stands out in my mind is wallis punching an 18 year old kid in the throat on the members wing. I didn't mind when he ironed out mil hana (itself a pretty cheap shot) but i thought the green hit was pretty ugly and unnecessary. the result wasn't in any doubt from pretty early on.
don't get the people who get all put out of Wallis hittng Green. Everyone knows what Wallis' role in that side was. An 18 yr old tried to get up in Wallis' face so Wallis punched him (at the top of the chest towards the shoulder, not the throat) and Green crumbled. in that era, Wallis could just of easily smashed half his face or conccussed the kid but instead a punch to the chest and the ressult is a sign of why an 18 year old brad green should have tried to kick some goals instead of getting in the face of Dean Wallis to prove he was hard. he wasn't.
He punched him in the throat if you ask me
I'm surprised Green wasn't killed if the shockwaves from the impact to the throat were enough to break his collar bone.
He was taken straight to hospital and was in some serious grief.
Great to see two brother playing together. First time in a while I think?
Steinberg, Dell and Jetta must be scratching there head wondering how 3 players at the club for less than 4 months can be ahead of them in the pack.
Good luck boys. Smash'm.
