Woosha – final moments or finals moment?

The talent we have on our list… Plain fact is we should be better. I’m telling you now Woohsa isn’t the coach to take us to our next permership, cut him loose and move on

Yes they were the positives. But you said Woosha was good last night? How so?
Didnt man up Houli until late in the 3rd.
Kept allowing Richmond to have 2 loose men in defence
We didnt set up well at all from our defensive 50
Too often we had an extra at the stoppage that is wasted in those conditions

Yes Darcy was good, so why does he play him in the forward line and use Myers in the midfield on about 3 occasions this season?
We never analyse and attempt to stop opposition teams, we just back our apparent game plan to beat them. Look at how Collingwood have beaten Richmond, by taking away their strengths first.
We have a coaching panel with very little football brain between them.
It would be interesting to see how much time we spend on opposition teams
Would also be interesting to see how much $$$ we spend on fitness and goalkicking coaches and all those little things that matter compared to other teams.

100%. None of those coaches are, all 5 need a clean out to begin with, then the fitness team as well.

Yes, they do it for a living. I can name you 1000 people who do things for a living but don’t actually care about what they are doing because at the end of the day, they still get paid.

Who cares about positives, we have a list that can win a flag but poor coaching staff who can’t deliver a flag.

Game plan or not it’s about the players uniting with the coaching staff and they aren’t.

Put Clarko in and I bet they would win a flag next year it’s that simple

The worry was that a couple of posters mentioned that there is a communication breakdown between coaches and players. How can this still be the case???

Has he been sacked yet? No. That’s ok I will wait for the joyous moment

Isn’t Luke ball responsible for the connection between players and coaches?

Is he still at the club? But surely in terms of game plan and on the training track, surely they dont need an interpreter?

This is it.

It’s how games of footy are won these days. Countering the opposition. And counter-countering. We were great at this under Hird. Okay at it under Knights (while we got it wrong a lot, we often tried). And non-existent under Worsfold. Meanwhile teams continually do it against us with great effect.

The Footology podcast on Thursday talked about how 60% of all scoring league-wide in 2018 came from turnovers. Yet we remain hyper-focused on stoppages. It’s almost willfully ignorant.

The trick is our team is so constrained to a detailed gameplan that there doesn’t seem to be any room for adaptability.

Yeah he’s still at the club and yeah I have no idea exact specifics of his role.

I’ve been saying for a while though that there are big concerns with leadership at our club and that goes for both the coaches and the senior players.

This is from his job description:

“Luke will be responsible for building and developing the leadership capability across our playing group as well as coach development, maximising the relationship between coaches and the playing group, and building the alignment between the players shared vision and the broader club values,” Lawry said.“

i think we’re so fixated on developing our own individual brand of footy that we’re ignoring league wide metrics and thinking we have the talent, ability and dedication to buck the trend and create our own waves.

Luke Ball was on the bench with the players last night, they showed him on the telly.

Did he look busy?

Nope. Didn’t see him with a clip board or iPad, nothing.
