That scene with Homer eating the butter grossed me out when I was younger, still does a bit

Took far too long for this episode to get mentioned. Goat.

To be fair, in any Simpsons top 10, you could literally just shuffle the order and it still could be argued to be correct. The consistency of brilliance between seasons 2-8 is something I don’t think any other show has ever matched.

During the 90’s the Simpsons staff produced some of the finest writing of the 20th century. How many p*ss funny lines can there be in just a few minutes? Hard to pick a favourite but I’d like to mention this one:

‘That’s sexual harassment. If you keep it up I’ll scream so loud the whole country will hear!’

‘Ha ha ha! With a man in the White House? Ha ha ha Not likely!’

It’s unbelievable how good that sequence is. Completely tears the American media apart in two minutes. And amazingly it’s more relevant today then when they wrote it.

This one is also exceptional. The end always always makes me laugh.

And by the way, the line that always makes me laugh most from that sequence is; “tune into tonight at 8 to see highlights from today, including when the garbage man came and when Marge Simpson put the cat out. Possibly because it was harassed, we don’t know”

The part where the bear falls into the crowd and it suddenly cuts out makes me laugh every single time

Sub out Maggie Makes Three for Cape Feare and Deep Space Homer for Homer Badman and you’ve got my in-no-particular-order top ten.

Thinking about the longevity, it’s amazing that The Simpsons is one of the greatest shows of all time, but most of it’s episodes are terrible.

The casino episode is often missing from top fives and top tens but it absolutely should be on so many. The number of jokes packed in to 22 minutes is astounding.

I do love Cape Feare (would probably be 11 on that list); but And Maggie Makes Three is such an underrated episode. So many memorable lines:

“Hey Homer, way to get Marge pregnant!”
“This is getting very abstract, but thank you, I do enjoy working at the bowling alley.”

Gets me every single time!

is it just me, or did anyone else find the simpsons movie very enjoyable.Felt like a throwback to the old simpsons style

I like the movie too. For that reason.

I think because many of the earlier writing staff came back to work on it.
