#1 - Andy McGrath - from April 2022

I guess you just need to make a judgement call on where you’d rather he gets his disposals, and work backwards from there.

He’s played 100 games and only had fewer than 20 disposals six times. He’s averaging 36 disposals per game so far this year. He’s going to get the footy no matter what you do.

yes he will get the footy but like against Pickett, pressure the disposals so more likely lead to turnovers.

remember setterfield v oliver
Oliver had like 40 but all junk and minimal influence of the game.
I don’t mind daicos getting his 30 odd, you all still win your multi s, but a lot of his kicks are not effective and lead to turnovers.

I would argue this is very consistent with Blitz.

He was ranked the second-best player of the whole round for all 9 games, only behind Jeremy Cameron who kicked 10. I’d love the know exactly what they base this on.

Good point.

Here’s a good summary. Basically measures scoreboard impact through a bunch of math and statistics recorded over heaps of games. Takes into account where the ball is won, how it’s won, and where the disposal goes, among other things.

Jamie Elliott plays like a short key forward. He usually destroys small defenders, you have to put a mobile key defender on him.

Given that really is only Zach Reid at the moment, I don’t particularly like the chances of that turning out well. Then again, if we are playing him, I’m not against throwing him to the wolves and seeing how he fares.

Ridley would probably be the right match up if he played, maybe even Blaki.

Which we don’t really have atm. Prior probably comes in and stands him.

McGrath should go to daicos with spells from durham.

I also wouldn’t mind if we put some attention into his brother. Adw or nguyen maybe…….

Blaki is surprisingly agile

Champion data says that he was second best player this round.

At the risk of stating the blindingly obvious, and with due respect to McGrath, that’s the sort of rating outcome that should lead people to say ‘jeez, Champion data’s ratings system is full of ■■■■ if that’s what it thought’ rather than ‘jeez, looking at the ratings, clearly I underrated his game’.

There is no planet in the universe in which he was the second best player in the comp last round.

It was so weird that he ended up with a higher rating than rowell on Saturday.

thats always said, but Jezza Cameron ten goals.
and most of the guys there had good games.
TEX 5 goals.

He did have 8 score involvements, so maybe that helped
2 goal assists
1 goal.
14 pressure acts
6 inside 50’s

Or Petracca with 25 and 3 goals.

Petracca 10 score involevements
2 goal assists
3 inside 50’s
11 pressure acts

Merrett 9 score involvements
29 pressure acts.

I can’t work it out, maybe it treated mcGrath as a defender, so rated the inside 50’s and goal + goal assists higher.
