#10 Isaac Kako

Want him to do sprint training in the off season. He is lacking initial speed off the mark. He is fine with speed after the first 5 metres

Just watched the replay. I know Isaac had a good game but the best part at the end was just after Eddie Betts interview with Big Drapes you could see Kako trying to sign as many of the mini sherrins that they hand out to the kids after the game. Now that is commitment. My son has got a few of those footballs over the years but when he got a ball with a few signatures instead of just one he was really excited. The worse part was me trying to work out who signed the balls after a few schooners haha

Are you mad, that sort of stuff leads to exploding hamstrings.

Or, done right, can lead to more robust hamstrings.

How does increasing your speed lead to exploding hamstrings? What a strange post.

Sorry, it was a poor joke that we’re not allowed to have nice things at Essendon.

He definitely lacked speed in the first play in the clip above.

Having a defender hanging off of him may have contributed, but I’m not sure.

Yep. The kid is getting mauled every time he goes near it. The fact is he’s our only quality small forward, so teams sweat on him and give him zero space to operate in. I really hope the other NGA small forwards we are linked to are up to the level as well. Have our own “Three Amigos” that scares the life out of the opposition.

Pretty quiet in here. Didn’t do anything too amazing, but his pressure and workrate is a massive bonus.

Led the way again with 30 sprinting efforts tonight.

Hardly ever loses a ground ball contest.

i worry he might do soft tissue injury with the amount of sprinting and chasing his does haha

Kid has played 4 games and shows the composure of an 100 game player

not hitting the scoreboard but is effective in doing the other aspects of the dangerous small forward role well

The goals will come.

Give him 2-3 preseasons and he’s going to be giving the opposition a lot to think about

Never loses his feet. It’s actually quite remarkable.

I’m actually a bit worried about this guy
He moves well and does some flashy stuff but does not impact games or the scoreboard enough

Now that is funny

When he is near the play, you get that feeling something is going to happen.
Like when McGrath and McKay are exchanging handballs in the backline* but in a better way.

*Light hearted humour, just in case any sensitive internet vigilantes want to have a week long argument defending them. I thought McKay’s disposal was some of the best I’ve seen last night.

I reckon he got scholed by Salem, but still did a couple of really good things that were very important. This game will have been good for him.

A quieter game and some bad disposals, but also made some important contributions. Small forward is a hard gig when the opposition targets you.
