Iād āmanageā him this week - let him play reserves. Lots of running and pressure but itās not translating to any real impact on games.
Bring in Gresham and maybe even Davey for Dreamtime

Iād stick with him personally, at least for next week where the forward line should get better supply, and the experience of playing the Dreamtime game will be a good one. Davey, Menzie and Unwin are hardly breathing down his throat, Guelfi is a different kind of option, while he hasnāt been outperformed by Day-Wicks. Depending on how next week goes, he might be due for a rest.
The problem is that our medium sized forwards are slow and do not apply any defensive pressure (Langford, Perkins). So theyāre not really doing much at all in terms of providing a contest, helping lock the ball in our front half, etc. Our ball use and spacing inside 50 is also well below par, which is what mid sized players need to be effective. Caddy is not a pure all either at 193cm, heās only slightly taller than Langers. You also have 2MP, who doesnāt really assert himself physically, Jones, who is now injured but even when he was playing was on a wing. Draper was the best tall option but heās no longer available.
An actual proper tall forward like a Thilthorpe or a Larkey would straighten the team up and allow Kako to get front and centre of a predictable target. Clearly they donāt grow on trees and the cupboard is bare at EFC.

Ironically we let Hunter go who was that exact type of structured leading forward.

He needs a break. Thatās not a knock. Heās a young kid that needs a rest. Probably wait another week until the Lions so he doesnāt have to travel.

Disagree, because our coach would have them halfway up the ground instead of in the arc where they belong.

Our forwards playing too high is one of our major problems-Scott has no idea what he is doing.

Need at least one maybe two more pressure forwards to help him. I constantly see him running from one defender to another at the same time that I see Perkins and Langford jogging about waving their arms. The kids got to be exhausted. Iām no fan of Menzie but he will at least apply pressure. Langford currently is a liability and if Perkins wasnāt a concern last year, he has got to be looked at as trade bait. One or both of the academy boys we have our eye on may be earmarked to help Kako restrict the ease at which that ball leaves our forward 50.
It can work if they have pace to burn and you have the ability to go quick, kick the ball to space and have a running race back to goal. But we have very few players with legspeed in this team. But I agree. The amount of times you see us win the ball back in the defensive end, or get a mark down the line and we have nothing to kick to up forward, itās absolute crap.

No issue letting him have a week or 2 in the VFL. Maybe even give him some midfield time there to get his hands on the ball.
I donāt necessarily think heās been that bad, but a week or 2 off is par for the course for a first year player.

Heās the only good small forward prospect on our list.

Iāve never agreed with this ājust keep pumping games into playersā view. It can kill confidence of a young player in the spotlight playing poorly and not getting a break back into the vfl to reestablish their form and take some pressure off. Look at a guy like Perkins as a good example, gifted games his whole career, it hasnāt helped.

Lalor was for the tigers too.
Seems for whatever reason they wanted a rising player from each club alongside the existing indigenous representation for promo.
Not sure there is anything wrong with it tbh.

Iād like to see him get some midfield minutes at the back end of the season.
Just as a way of seeing if heās a player who can change the dynamic if needed.
