There was so much to get excited about on Friday night and the disposal, composure and run of JM was right up there.
He was very constructive throughout the game, terrific to see. So pleasing to see the development that is taking place with the younger players.
Kudos to the recruiting staff over the past couple of years.
It is a credit to them that with severe draft restrictions in place two of their picks in the 2013 end of season draft play in round one 2014.

Mainly the way he moves.
He’s angular. Running style reminds me of Milburn.
He does remind me of a bit Heffernan, I also see a dash of Caracella in there too....
Not getting carried away yet - he and gleeson will be shown up and various points because of size. But yes calm under pressure. Will make way for winders most probably.

He is making such consistent progress it’s amazing, kids usually learn in patches have lulls and then breakouts, but apart from running out of steam mid way through last year his progression has been almost linear since he joined the club. It’s quite amazing.
I didn't think he had that in him...yet. Looked to be at this stage a forward-pocket specialist, but worked really well up the field. That's the kind of improvement we need if we are to go places, players like Kav, Colyer, etc have to come along as well and at a minimum put serious pressure on the guys in the side to keep their performance levels up.
He worked up the ground lots in the last game of 2013. Pleasing to see that he is continuing this development.

Heffernan was a tackling machine, and a touch slow.

What he, and Gleeson for that matter has, is AWARENESS.
And a footballers brain.
Meaning, he has already seemed to assess the play around him before he gets the ball, and can therefore make quick, decisive decisions as soon as he gets it.
Couple that with good pace, neat skills and we a 2 ■■■■■■ exciting footballers on our hands.
