2018 ISC JUMPER....Perfected!

I like the addition of the collar for a heritage feel.

I have all the heritage jumpers so far.

It’s black with a red sash, whats the issue?

It was always a weird thing to call something we’d never worn before a tribute to the club’s “heritage”.

Name actually works on this one.

IMG_4007Our indigenous jumpers have been far more inventive about the way they utilise light colours and the black to pass as a ‘clash strip’.

We should be looking at what the designers have done with the black, and implement it into all of our future clash strips. The red and grey jumpers are an abomination and very little creativity.

We haven’t used red and grey jumpers for a few years.

So you’re saying the clash strip should be mostly black and red? That’ll work.

We still use the red guernsey.

Ground breaking strategy.

We’ve worn these older style thin sash jumpers in several games this century already. Not to mention all the years it was our actual jumper. What’s the problem?

The jumpers of the 1940s had a thinner sash than what we have today. So it is a Heritage jumper. I’ve got one circa 2005 when we played Hawthorn (and they wore some weird blue/red/white number with black shorts).

But not red AND grey, as in grey with a red sash. Sorry, that’s what I thought you meant.

Proper heritage Jumper would be "Pure New Wool"™. and have no Branding on it, … least of all the AFL logo.

I just think it’s sad that we now continually stuff around with and commercialise our once sacred jumper.

I do agree that as far as commercial jumpers go, this is as good is it gets.

Would be keen to know how much money the club makes from these jumpers and if that out values the loss of tradition.

With respect, if we don’t do that, we are ‘behind the times’. Pretty much any professional sporting team has at least one alternate strip.

At least we have gone back to just red and black playing jumpers. Carlton and Hawthorn have shown how not to do clash jumpers.

From 1909. How about this for an alternate strip? Or did he just wear it inside out?

Didn’t players have to sew on their own sashes originally?

‘Behind the times’ is not an argument for a jumper. Clubs like GWS and St Kilda constantly play around with their jumpers. I don’t want to be like them.

You should ask Alan_Noonan_10. That’s him in the middle of the front row looking like he’s about to call someone an ignorant c***.
