Given we’re also trying to get into the 2nd round I’d think a Dodo low ball offer will be in the mix!

The clubs made it public that want to get another pick between 10 and 25 and a small forward, this trade achieves both.

Not at the expense of dropping out of the first round.
I really think we will use Hill to try and get GWS’s pick 13 in exchange for our future 1st and a third.
GWS then hand whatever to Freo for Lobb

GWS are essentially exchanging firsts and getting a future third for Hill. That’s unders compared to a straight up future second.
Who says we are offering our future second as a straight swap though?
For all we know we could have a horrible year of injuries, honeymoon over for Rutten, teams targeting our new gameplan more…
If things turn to schit (which does happen sometimes), we could be giving away a top 5 pick just to get an “okay” player in the door. It’s a big risk.

They didn’t not say it either. I’m interpreting the Mahoney statement to mean they want to add a second round pick this year not trade out of the first.
They are exchanging a first this year for our first next year, maybe they will gamble on us going backwards for a year.
Is Hills manager the guy that mentioned that GWS might have to ship someone out to stay under the cap? I think there is a good chance that we can get him cheaply

That was before Hill came up as an option though. I personally just think that’s a lot and more complicated than necessary. I think it will be our future 2nd with like a 3rd coming back.
