2 firsts should get King done. I don’t think we would go higher than that.
If we trade our 2022 2nd this year we can still trade our 2022 1st next year and go into that draft with no 1st or 2nd rounder.
Ok. I didn’t think the AFL allowed that without trading back into the first or second round next year
This trade period might just be “a Hill to far”
It depends on the year you trade it. You can trade out a future this year and still trade out of that same draft next year
We’ve got a mountain to climb to secure Hill.
Yep, you’re only restricted on what 2022 picks you trade this year. Once next year rolls around your can do whatever you want, regardless of what you traded the previous year. (if that makes sense?)
We secure him: top of the Hill
We don’t secure him: over the Hill
Gone for half a day, 720 posts on a trade spec thread over the weekend. Wowee
It does
Is it a hill worth dying on?
Beneath Hill pick 60
It’s just the future year you can’t trade completely out of. Current years you can. So this year we could trade this year’s 1st, even though we’ve already traded the 2nd
I like this Saucy……ticks boxes for me. I think getting Hill and an extra first round pick this year would be a great outcome
He’s wrong, you cannot trade your future first and your future second.
If a club trades out a future first, it is not permitted to trade out another future pick in that draft unless it gets another future first back in.
Edit: sorry re read the original post, he’s not actually wrong. You just can’t trade a future first and second without getting another back in, when the year actually comes around you can trade out of the first and second rounds in that year
We can’t trade a future first and second THIS YEAR. If we trade a future first this year, we can still trade our second when next year rolls around. I’m not wrong.
Yes because that wouldn’t be a future pick, that’s the point. And I wasn’t talking about you
I just hope we get him cheap.
My main concern is agents, in conjunction with other clubs, aren’t pushing up Hill.
If:
Brayden Ham is forging a better career than Will Hams
Dylan Shiel is better than Liam Shiels
Then…Could Bobby be better than this guy?
What are we using our first round pick on this year of we’ve traded in a small forward and a lockdown defender? Outside mid?
