2022 Draft Watch (Part 2)

I hope we miss out on Munkara, and move up from Pick 22.

Pick 4, a pick in the teens, and the Davey boys would be great.

I’d prefer to use the 2023 draft capital that would cost in 2023.

Would you know if its possible to delist Eyre, he goes through the drafts unselected for us to then re-list him this time as a Cat B as he was an NGA originally?

I would have delisted Eyre, and picked Lemmey with pick 22.

Then if we go with Phillipou, we have two SA players coming across to us.

With limited list spots, I would rather another pick in the teens.

We do have the blinders on with Munkara a tad. There is a reason he has slid so far down the order.

If we could get him as a rookie though, I would be all for it.

No we can’t.

And given he was originally bid on in the second round only 2 years ago and was always considered a long-term prospect, why do you think he’d go undrafted?

Cause he hasn’t really showed much, he was picked in a Covid draft without any real footy exposure based on his combine athletic traits.

It was a shallow draft and he really is just a project player

I think it would be fair to say he would get through the draft no problems.

Just look at the players that have been delisted at all clubs this year that won’t get another chance that are much better players than Josh.

List spots are tight for most clubs

Nah Cats would grab him late and he would turn into a AA CHB/CHF or tall and athletic like Mark Blicavs and play anywhere.

if that’s true (and im sure you’re correct) I am a bit lost as to what our strategy with pick 22 is.

We can delist after the draft?

We could but it would be unfair to delist a player after the draft and not give him a chance to get drafted by another club.

I think we will find out about our intentions with Eyre and Walla by Thursday

Strategy is hold it and see where Davey bid comes, if it comes before 22, trade back to match for points. due to list spots cant grab a heap of late picks more just swapping our later picks or maybe future picks

If comes after 22 can take pick, or trade back. Really depends if anyone we want is left at 22/24.

Given discussions efc have had with players draft range around 22 I think we take it if we can. And then hope Munkara gets to Cat B.

Its a risky strategy IMO.

Yep, let’s forever be a rebuilding club and toss out all 25-28 year olds who aren’t already AA calibre players (even though they’d be best 22 in almost any other club in the comp). Massive facepalm and classic Essendon support mentality.

I think theres a sum total of about 7 people on the planet who want Parish forward.

Langford, Lav, Snell are solid AFL players, no more but no less.

Absolutely nothing wrong with being a solid AFL player. Believe all 3 of those guys could easily elevate their games with a lift in whole team performance too.

I think that is what will happen

6 of them work at the EFC, the 7th is that loon in the parish thread

I understood that last year the AFL changed the rules so that you’re not limited to available list spots for the number of picks you use to match points.

May have just been for interstate clubs though.
