That’s still extremely low for an AFL state.
Why? Ruck is the least of our needs
Maybe WA clubs need to set up academies
5 of whom will get picked up before our pick.
From WA Bo Allan and Kayle Gerreyn will be drafted. Possible both in the first round even. Malakai Champion should be taken although he’s been disappointing this season so far.
There are others that have a strong chance of being drafted unless they really disappoint at the champs. Luke Urquhart, Deian Roberts, Hamish Davis etc.
There’s been some soulsearching and finger pointing going on over there though. Its definitely a weaker crop on the back of another fairly weak crop last season.
There have been suggestions that the AFL haven’t done enough to support efforts to bring in kids from remote areas to play in the WAFL colts system. That a number of pathways which have thrived in the past have really withered in recent seasons.
e: wait are we talking national draft or MSD here??
I heard he is ten feet tall and shoots fireballs out of his arse
They are very handy traits for a footballer these days.
In 2022 didn’t they have like 5 first round draftees? Swings and roundabouts.
Still, for a footy state to only have a handful of possible draftees out of 60-80 kids is really poor.
He looks a lethal weapon.
I think so I think he probably has more upside than most the question would be where would play him to make the seniors

Yeah he ended up having a huge game on the weekend. I’d intended to showcase it with a video but they havent listed the footage on the AFL site yet.
He’s been named in the Allies side for the champs as an over ager, so he’ll play this weekend in the opening game against SA.
It’s the greatest crime in naming football clubs that Wynyard are the cats and not the blues.
