I actually think “he reads it well” under sells just how much work he puts in.
All these guys are pretty good footballers, and most of them are even able to count numbers at a contest.
The number of times he’s getting out on the end of contests where we have the numbers, and picking off kicks when we don’t, says he’s more than just canny.
I don’t think it’s an unreasonable thing to note about Heppell either; it was also one of his strengths as an inside mid. Some of his work reading the fall of the ball at stoppages was truly sublime.
Has always been able to football. I feel that he has not been 100% for a couple of years and has played thru pain. Wonderful to see him running and performing with freedom.
stays HB, The skipper controls the play and can work with his mids to connect with the forwards. He also reads the play and doesn’t mind standing in front or in the hole of the high ball.
If anyone from backline is ready to take step to midfield would be Redders.
I would like 2nd half of year, he start as defensive mid alongside Parish and Merrett.
Cox and Ham on wing.
wasn’t he on breust for the majority? he did kick three. I know two were definitely on hep. I do think he’s going pretty well though, but he’s a bit sus when actually defending imo
all in all, he’s playing well though, he’s worked into the season great
