#21 Dyson "Go jam it” Heppell - goes alright

Well, Heppell was either lying about not knowing about Parker punking Sheil or that is a truly delusional club. How could they be that oblivious before appearing on the couch.

He was what was needed post saga, don’t underestimate the psychological impact of the saga.

I would like to see Lav promoted to captain.

Option 3 they don’t like Shiel

I dunno if he was exactly what we needed, but I’m sure his approach was well received at the time.

But yes, it’s certainly not what we need now.

Anyone got Twitter and can post the Albert Thurgood clip of Dys and family before the game?

Edit: found it

He was lying. Same as when coaches get asked if they see a reportable incident in the post game presser. ‘No I haven’t seen it’ aka I don’t want any articles written about my opinion that could be detrimental to me.

Brand and identity lol

Seriously you’d be ■■■■■■■■ yourself if you are a high draft pick

It was Corperate 101

He’s just not captain materia… it was like she your manager sends outa group email to cover his ■■■■ for the 1 bloke that keeps farkin it up.

I didn’t see the pre game walk out…. Oh dear talk about patting yourself on the back!

I understood he was really invested in each and every one involved.

Now it’s time for change.

I don’t think he deserves the pile one. He’s hurting like us at least it shows he cares.

Now he needs to make a stand internally and push for change.

The last bit standing for something good…. Football is about winning no matter how you play you just win.

It was a train wreck at the end

Not sure he needed to swear.
I like Hep but that wasn’t great viewing.
Agreed that Truck should be taking some heat- along with our so called senior players starting with Shiel.
We really do have no leaders.

I really feel sorry for Hep, think the club should have protected or atleast prepared him for a media gig later in the week, tonight was too soon after Saturday nights game and he wasnt ready.
Well done X and Brash…keep digging.

Yep. He would have been sent out there with instructions. Back the coach, back the gameplan, don’t get drawn on the Shiel thing, claim ignorance. Don’t criticise any of your teammates. Play a dead bat as much as you can. IT’ll all get better soon, work at it, one week at a time, etc.

But this club has been ■■■■ at media management and PR since Sheedy left. It’s the nearest thing to a no-win situation there could be, but probably the best he could have done is arced up and said that what was said between him and Shiel or Shiel and the rest of the playing group is private and that as capain his reponssibility is to his players and that doesn’t mean giving running commentary on their personal conversations on TV.

Of course, it’s also possible that it’s TRUE that he hasn’t spoken to Shiel, or maybe the club is so inept at media that they DID send him out there unbriefed and unrehearsed to face what was always going to be a hostile interview. I don’t like to believe that, but it’s possible.

Disagree, the action required a response in support of your team mate. Didn’t have to be a punch up, even getting in Parker’s face would have shown something. Heppell interview, 100% required……this football team don’t just play for themselves, my football club play for the fun of it but an AFL team plays for themselves, the supporters, the members and the club and as a result they must placate the masses after such a pathetic effort.

Agree, that Saturday night is a chance for Dyson but also his team to respond. Recent history would suggest we won’t see an appropriate response but gee I am hoping we do.

What scares me is I don’t have faith in anyone currently at the club to be a great leader next season either, post Heppell.

Particularly as they haven’t been at the club and done an actual review of the game yet.

Wishful thinking but maybe his interview tonight might change him as captain

Yep but I don’t think it is going to work. Cornes was already onto the implication that he hasn’t even called Sheil to support him.

No point going on a show, dropping some f bombs , talk about caring so much being authentic then to just lie like a politician.

If you didn’t know and you didn’t contact your mate then you shouldn’t be captain.

He has about 10 games left of his career, so probably not.

Imagine how Shiel would be feeling right now yeah he should have responded but not getting any support from his team mates would have made him feel like even more crap probly thinks my team mates dont care about why should i care
