Its easy to determine Carlisles worth. Simply ask what spot would stkilda draft him in the national draft this year as the present day player he is in comparison to the other available draftees. The answer is with pick 5....thats if he got past the four clubs before them.Thereās no way he would go past pick 1, actually. Why would you recruit an unproven tall with years in development to go, over Carlisle?
Thatās what I was getting at. Posturing about pick 5 is unnecessary because they would have to use it in a draft situation. Anything less than 5 resulting from moves made by stkilda is a win for them.
The annoying thing is we would have received better compensation if they were free agents. Plus could have negotiated better deal if had draft picks ie with crameri deal.

I agree completely with that, but i donāt think the average office idiot considers the salary range and contract duration when discussing trades. The way I put it above makes it plain for anyone to see that the saints are getting a fair exchange for their first pick.
