The insanity here is that it appears stupidly pigheaded. Let's say they spend a week trying to get (example) 10 and 19 for pick 5 and 42. Then we get 10. All this crap to retain 19? They could probably find a way to get our 2nd round pick anyway and be just a couple of picks worse.Nah. They keep 10 and we get 19.

I agree with the above, think 5 for Carlisle is a fair trade, win, win for both clubs, no one loses. Saints are just win and make us lose.
So Adelaide has picks picks 9, 13 & 28
Is pick 5 = 9 & 13 (maybe also swap saints 24 for adelaides 28)
Then we get 9 & 24/28 for Carlisle.
Richmond and Carlton at loggerheads over Yarran.
On that, could we see a successful 4 club trade:
Saints Trade Pick 5 + 24, Get Carlisle + Pick 12
Carlton Trade Yarran, Get Pick 24
Richmond Trade Pick 12 + 31, Get Pick 23 and Yarran
Essendon Trade Pick 23 + Carlisle, Get Pick 5 + 31
On second thought Adelaide probably wont want to do that unless we downgrade 4 for 5 and they get 4.

I absolutely agree that is what they will try to do, but sorry to tell you this StKilda… PICK 19 IS A SECOND ROUND PICK, YOU FREAKS!

Pears, kav and melk weren’t top 5 picks. Myers is a very, very good player when fit and gumby was the bad, unlucky one. You’ve suggested more players who went bust around the picks you want. Top 5 talent is normally a pretty safe bet

This should satisfy Adelaide and Saints but will we be happy with downgrading a couple of picks
