I’m happy to take cheap shots for no reason when my preference is to support one our best and most consistent players who is now not only out for 12 months but just lost his chance of achieving an All Australian selection when there was absolutely zero reason for this oppo player to still have body contact and forward momentum on Martin, pushing him towards the fence.
They are clearly over the boundary line for anyone else who wishes to call my position ridiculous.

The contact that resulted in his Acl injury was before the boundary line though, and the injury itself happened before the boundary line too. Im not sure how you are seeing it any differently.
It was a bit of a snipe but so what, it was entirely within the rules of the game.

It might not be within the rules of the game if it falls within the definition of charging: “the amount of physical force used is unreasonable or unnecessary in the circumstances.”
Given Martin’s proximity to the boundary line at the time contact was made, did Mansell really need to use that much force (which almost sent Martin to the fence) to get the ball over the line?

Martin talked about following Ashcroft’s recovery. that was still eleven months. Better to be conservative than come back too early.
